I did not do anything to the local db where the profiles are stored. It just started working today, it appears for many of us. My take; server side issue that Kemper addressed.
As far as the db file goes, there is one in your Windows user folder and if you rename or delete it then the RigExchange will be resync as if a new install. You just don't want to delete the db that has your user created profiles otherwise you'll have to go through and add them, rearrange, etc. again. There are a couple of other threads where this was discussed.
Started working for me today. Got the latest rigs downloaded.
Mine last synced on the 29th of March. At one time I was out of sync, missing several weeks. Renamed the db file and everything resynced. Considering there appears to be widespread issues with updates, this could be a server side issue, not client side.
Maybe I'm totally missing something but all I see is that Sinmix said the TAF profiles "were not what I expected." Where's the harm in that? How you get from that to "putting down other's work" or "agreeing with another's post" about them being obsolete, unusable, etc. is beyond me. Sinmix paid for the TAF profiles too. He's entitled to an opinion. It's not like he said, "TAF profiles are terrible, buy mine instead". Maybe he simply shouldn't have made that comment at all since he also offers commercial profiles but some of you guys are blowing it way out of proportion.
Did you read post 27? And 28 which I personally agree with.
Well I have to say the multi mic setup works pretty nice.
I've created a sample made from 2 different profiles from this Metal Recording Pack (not from double mic profiles though). Just some ideas scrubbed together, not very polished composition but I believe it showcases the profiles well.
As the majority have stated here I think it sounded good. Not my style but I can appreciate the effort.
People what is wrong with you? I tried to be gentle in expressing his opinion.
But if you really want to hear it, so I'm not a fan Higain profiles from TAF! Better?
I get it. You're the victim because a few of us pointed out your disregard for professional courtesy. Duly noted.
Nowhere wrote that your profile is bad, I wrote that I was looking for something different, you have a very nice profile of 6505. I do not claim that my profiles are the best in the world! If someone like this as a sound mixes, it will buy them. That's all.
You agreed with another user's post that the TAF profiles were "obsolete", "unusable" and questioning "why anyone would pay" for them. I would consider that worse than just saying they are bad. Man up and move on.
Ok. Summary follows later then.
I dropped you a PM with some additional details.
Could you be a bit more specific? Was there a problem that wasn't taken care of?
I'm a month and a half into trying to resolve a buzzing issue. It's still in progress so I'm hesitant to get into specifics as the CLR isn't in my hands at this time.
When you make your decision don't forgot to think long-term and consider the intangibles; QC, durability, serviceability, etc. The Yamahas for example are built for heavy abuse, and although I haven't had any issues with mine that require service, I am led to believe you won't have any issues getting Yamaha's support if you need it, globally. I can't say my personal experience with other products, specifically the most popular one mentioned here, the Atomic CLR, has been pleasant with respect to those intangibles.
Geez, didn't even think about dragging folders from Windows. That's the trick. Thanks
What am I missing? I have numerous folders and subfolders of profiles on my PC and I would like to bulk import them into RM to modify. Doesn't appear to be a function to specify a folder and have the profiles in that folder or subfolders imported. I see the "Import Rigs" menu option however it really isn't "Import Rig" rather import one rig at a time. I'm assuming I'll have to use the Kemper as a conduit?
Thanks
I just upgraded the firmware, left my usb stick inserted, found an older USB cable (I'm assuming some people don't have this particular type of cable unless there is a printer laying around), plugged it up and Rig Manager began adding the (997) Profiles I have on the Kemper. I wasn't necessarily watch however it took, maybe 5 minutes. Disconnected the cable from my laptop, left it unplugged for a minute, and plugged it back in. My KPA showed up in Rig Manager initially with 0 profiles than quickly listed (997). Appears to be working as intended from my end.
Except for their conscience, is there anything technically keeping someone from taking another person's profile and re-branding it as their own?
Just from my brief glimpse at the forthcoming Rig Manager, it doesn't appear that the Amp Author and Rig Author fields are locked. What's stopping someone from slapping their name on an existing profile and uploading to the Rig Exchange?
Bare in mind that the TAF website doesn't provide a detailed list of all the individual profiles per amp and various combinations of components utilized (Cab/Mic/Pedals). I think that is useful, although would be helpful if provided directly by TAF.
I've inherited many TAF profiles from the previous owner of my KPA. Without the supporting info provided by TAF with the profiles, I don't necessarily know how to decipher the naming conventions. Crank vs Full, various pedals, etc. That info would be helpful.
You're not alone.
I've tried contacting Atomic several times about a CLR but no one has gotten back to me for 2 weeks
Was stated in another thread that CK himself said this year.
Let's all keep things in perspective, the Windows version still isn't even available and a definitive date hasn't been provided. Could be this month, the next or March. While not as bad as a possible worst case scenario December time frame for a Mac version, bottom line nothing is currently available. Having said that, I am looking forward to the release of the Windows version.
