Display MoreHi all,
My first post since I got my KPA about a month ago. This thing is incredible. I've been playing in bands for over 45 years and this is without a doubt the best new piece of gear I have ever bought. I am currently in a 5-piece cover band and, up until now, was a confirmed tube amp junkie. My rig for the last two years has been a PRS CE-24 with 57/08's into a SF Princeton Reverb and/or '67 Vibrolux Reverb. My pedal-board consists of an Ethos OD, Timmy, TCE Flashback Delay and vintage Boss CE-2 Chorus, running into a Line6 G-50 wireless. The Kemper will soon be replacing everything except the G-50 and guitar. I have already gigged twice with it, running it A/B/Y with my old rig. I run it direct into the Presonus board and from there into FOH QSC K-12's and a Yorkville powered sub. The Presonus has separate monitor mixes so I can control how much guitar I want in my JBL vocal monitor. Nothing but compliments on my sound so far.
I have just received an FCB1010 and the Uno4Kemper chip so plan to have the KPA ready to go into performance mode by our next gig. I found a great Anvil case that is almost a perfect fit ($50 eBay purchase) and built a stand for the Kemper out of Baltic plywood and painted with black Duratex. Since I run our sound from stage, I wanted the Kemper close at hand so came up with this design. When the PA rack is all set up, the KPA is almost chest-high. I drilled dimples into the top that the KPA's rubber feet fit into so it will not move around. It only took about 3 hours in the workshop.
