Hi guys,
Looking to get an audio interface for my Kemper, it will be used for recording/jamming/reamping and I've narrowed it down to these two:

http://www.reddogmusic.co.uk/catalog/produc…te-scarlett-8i6
These two are in my local store and they appear to provide everything I need, however I've heard plenty of horror stories about Focusrite drivers... Can anyone chip in on any of these units? A good SPDIF input/output is a must, as I will be reamping a lot of tracks and would need them to be of a semi-decent quality.
Choosing audio interface: Roland Quad Capture/Focusrite Scarlett 8i6

All right, got my Roland Quad Capture; just need SPDIF cables, would these be appropriate?
-
they should be fine. incidentally i have a quad capture and it works fine for recording the kemper in stereo over spdif, but the lack of a mixer on the quad capture makes it a pain to record a mono amp and di of the guitar as there is no way to pan or mute what you monitor so you have a di hard left, and an amp hard right. i end up turning the left speaker off while tracking. not a major hassle really.

ok a quick search has revealed that turning on 'asio direct monitoring' on the quad capture lets your daw control the hardware monitoring and sorts the problem out. i guess my life just got easier!

Does quad capture support zero latency monitoring for SPDIF?

Honestly, for me my Quad capture has zero latency through SPDIF and direct monitoring.
This soundcard is a keeper for me. Very transparent to me also (I A/B the headphone out of the Kemper and the Heapdhone out of the Quad Capture).
