what amp did he use on those sessions?
I met Marty at a guitar clinic he put on for Jackson guitars back in the early 2000s.... He was endorsed and used Crate Blue Voodoo heads. A guy I knew provided his personal amp and cab, Marty flew in with two guitars. When he plugged into the bone stock Voodoo head for the clinic - it was there. A lot of how he sounds is in his hands - if you've ever seen him pick, it's pretty strange, he spends a lot of time with his hand below the strings and with the pick up at a really weird angle.
I'm going to work on several 'artist' presets for the Kemper, this may be one, but don't be too disappointed if you can't sound like Marty. A LOT of it is in his hands.
Yeah, his technique is very unusual for such a good player. Ive always been surprised he could pull of some of the cacophony stuff with his hand positioning - i figured it was mostly Jason!
