Text Editing ‘Insert’ Soft Button

The ‘Insert’ soft button does not enter a space before the current cursor position. Pressing ‘Insert’ while editing a name just moves to the next character. E.g. Trying to name a rig ‘Les Paul’, I can’t get the space between the words. Per the manual ‘Insert’ is meant to do this.

To clarify: Insert does move the character to the right but the cursor remains in the space it inserted. Can’t find a way to move the cursor to the right without entering another character in the space created.
