Rig Manager short IR name when imported

Hi there!

As many IRs (3er p) have long names (speaker type, brand, year, mic, bright, fat etc) it's nice to have the complete file name. But when you import them via Rig Manager, the application shortens them to 20 characters or so, including removing spaces. Does anyone knows a way to avoid this and keep the original name?

Unfortunately not. There have been several requests over the years for the number of characters to be increased but this has never be implemented by Kemper. In fact earlier this week a feature request for this was closed by moderators with the statement ”we will not increase the available number of characters”. So it looks like you are stuck with manually amending the file names as required.

Maybe look into the good old lupas rename application to optimize the names of the files before the conversion happens. Maybe less information is lost in the translation that way.
