I am trying to achieve an old school death metal tone like Napalm Death. I know they used a Metal Zone into a Mesa Recto.. but there are a LOT of rectifier profiles to chose from.
Any advice?

Nice, sounds good to me. Interesting name..
actually most of the hi-gain amps sound basically the same,it is really the cabinets which make the biggest difference to the sound.

Well, yes and no. I have a Mesa Recto oversized cab with v30s hooked into my Marshall 2204 JMP. If you compare the tone vs a Dual Recto head it is a LOT different with some of the same characteristics.

What jeepster is saying is absolutely true for the KPA, not so much in real life, yes, but in the KPA the cabinet has a bigger impact on the tone.
Yes i was talking profile wise not"real life".For example if you lock a cabinet and then try out a selection of decent hi-gain amp profiles with it there really is little difference between them, especially with a lot of gain.also there is no real difference between amps that cost thousands and amps that are much cheaper.
