I bought a friends Avatar 2x12 stereo cabinet with 8 ohm speakers and need to re-wire it for mono so I can use it with the Kemper. Do I wire it in series or parallel.?

Take your pick! Series will give you 16 Ohms whilst Parallel will give you 4 Ohms. both will be OK but I would be inclined to go for the 16 Ohms option as it's unlikely that the speakers (even combined) will be up to the Kemper's power amp at high volume.

So, there’s no advantage/disadvantage to doing it one way or the other?

I'm sure a 'boffin' will come along and correct me but, I don't think so. It's possibly 'safer' running at 16 Ohms as you are further away from the minimum spec for the KPA

The only thing I’ve been able to come up with is wiring it at 16 Ohms so that I might use the cabinet with another head. e.g. My Friedman head has 8 and 16 Ohm outputs.

Then that's the way to go - pointless making unusable elsewhere.

Thanks Andy!

For a solid state amp the impedence won't matter as much as with a tube amp. you will be fine either way. I have used the Kemper at 4 ohms fine. I would expect the Kemper will be louder at 4 ohms than at 16.
with a tube amp it is more important, but usually tube amps have more taps on the output transformer to match other speakers.
Either way, I would not wire speakers up at less than 4 ohms total for either. A super reverb is tapped to take a 2 ohm load, but not many others.

This product gives you all the options: stereo and series or parallel. Pretty much plug and play with standard connectors.

That's pretty cool. For $15, I may just pick that up.
BTW - I have wired up the cabinet in series and it sounds great.
