I was able to recover by updating back to 7.1.4. It was doing it on this firmware as well so I don't have high hopes that it won't happen again.
Unfortunately running my Stage without a power strip is not really an option. I have too few outlets to run anything without a power strip of some sort. Nothing else in my chain on my power strip is behaving this way, only the Stage.
Where do we download older firmware?

it's very doubtfull that this problem is related to the clock problem. It's wise that you have opened a ticket: support will help you out.

I have opened a ticket with support
I have heard excatly the same noise Not with Kemper but with Campridge Audio DAC. It was related how powering of AD and DA was done and how something blow up there. Again a peak from mains power most probably did that... Weird, but what comes out from your Kemper sounds excatly the same to what this DAC output was.

Mine is on its way back to Kemper America repair center. Not sure what the cause of the noise is but if it's something outside of the Stage, then nothing else in my house is susceptible to it. Including my HX Stomp and Atomic firebox connected to the same power strip and playing through the same monitor amp as well as my Amp1, HXFX and Ashdown tube amp all in the same room.
