Am I doing this right? Recording Kemper into Logic via SPDIF

Just purchased a Kemper this week to use as a home recording tool... pretty much brand new to digital home recording and Kemper.

Forgive me, I've search forums and I don't even know what to look for. I'm running SPDIF in/out coax of the Kemper into my Focusrite Saffire Pro 14. I have my Saffire Mix Control set to SPDIF, selected inputs 5/6 on the track in Logic to get the input sound, and when I hit R (record enable) on the track my tone seems to lose some low-end. The tone is still passable, especially in the mix, but it just sounds a little more "tinny," digital, and thin.

Am I doing everything right? I don't know if it's the interface, eq in Saffire, Kemper, or phase issue.

It may be a phase issue; check to see if you're monitoring from the track inside logic. If so, turn it off.

Yeah, that's it. You may have to right-click the track and choose track header components (or whatever it's called) to get it to show. It may be turned off by default, though, in which case that's not your problem. Sounds like it though
