but am not sure if it really is needed, anymore than, say, a Korg Miku pedal.
Just checked that out (never heard of it). That is one funny pedal! I get your point for sure on both of those.

@prsgary Please keep us posted. The Mel9 is out of stock everywhere here, otherwise I would've had one by now (couldn't be more usable with one particular project I play with). I think I might be a bit more cautious with my money now though, however.
Sure thing, Sam. I thought it would help with one of my projects as well. I'll let you know if EH or anyone on their forum have a solution that makes it useful.
Actually one of Bill Rupert's profiles (downloaded with 4.0.2 and just starting to play with it) sounds way better than the Mel9 - it's called "Baritone Guitar." also - he's got a profile similar to the Korg Miku pedal (but way more musical and therefor useful) - it's called "Pierce FS 8VA." Check them both out!!

Have seen it today at Gear4Music with announced delivery date 6th of May.(€ 217,0 -> 20€ cheeper than Thomann. )
Check them both out!!
Thanks for the head up prsgary.
