Hi MetalMauce congrats on your panel, i try to achieve the same, however, i struggle finding (for me) understandable instructions on how to solder the power amp cable plug. I only find transparent 2x2.5mm2 cables for speakers in online shops. did you cut off a speaker cable? Apparently i got a stereo neutrik plug - how did you solder this the right way? Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Thanks christianbad, i googled a little bit more and found an articel about this topic. Kemper Remote RJ45 jack compliance
However, i still don't know why the PoE is needed. I'm not extending the length of the cable by more than 10cm incl. the connector.
But if this takes me to the safe side, why not. Its just one more part that could fail.
Thanks for the advice

Thank you Wheresthedug, confirmation is heaven
Also thank you Burkhard, i guess you are referring to this fact: „American Wire Gauge“ 24 (AWG)?
The rj45 connector suppors awg 24-22

I all, i attempt to make this panel myself - it seems you can also route the poweramp out through such a thing. Since i'm not used to solder any cables, what kind of connector should i use to route the power amp through the panel? something like this? What did you use?
https://www.conrad.ch/de/p/6-3-mm-kl…gle-shopping-de
I will route USB, Rj45, XLR and if i figure out how, the Power Amp out.
Thanks for any tips, its appreciated.

For smaller gigs i don't bother with a cab or a separate monitor, but just use the monitor signal i get from foh, same as wheresthedug describes.
One advice i found helpful was to look for the profiles you like using a PA and having an EQ after the Amp section to adjust to your guitar, make a low and high cut, maybe check for a small mids boost if needed. It will cut through better, the low cut (at around 200hz) makes sure you don't fight with the bass guitar, and the high cut (at around 5-6k) makes sure it doesnt fizz and hiss.
have fun

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to try them all. Am i right that the Mic Pres and the G12K Cabs go to the USB stick? or only the G12K cabs?

Hi All,
I ordered a Kemper DI Box and made my first profiles. Since I usually use direct profiles i don't go through the hassle of mics etc. since there are very good IRs available.
If you like them, great, if you know how i could make them better, please tell me. I didn't quite figure out how the connected cabs influence the load comming from the amp - e.g. in the beginning, i always ended up with distorted profiles even when all was set up clen (amp and profile settings)
Cheers, Chris

How comes, no announcements are here regarding the teaser? Is it a floor unit? Or the new editor?

dear all, thanks for reading.
I will have to rearange my setup where i need a longer cable from the kpa powered out to a guitar cab (mono)
I see cheap (20€) cable for 5-10m and 90€ cable for 1.8m - does anyone now the benefit of such price differencs? Is it "just" shielding? I'll need 3-5m.
Thanks for any info

are you aware of the morphing function? This may help you get there. I just boost the sojnd i have with certain parameter in volume, eq etc.

To compare, you would have to put the amp in another so you can compare what the audience would hear. Otherwhise its just like Behind said.

i tried IRs a few times, but i hardly stick with something else than what comes withe profile. I do like merged profiles for a better separation so my cab sounds like my cab. But thats it. Do you work with low and high shift in the cab section? Tiny tweaks makd more for me than other IRs.

I read through so many same topics of KPA users who compare their sound from PA to a [put any brand] Head with a Cab.
In my band setting, i "compete" with a Marshall JCM900 and a Keyboard (i guess you don't care for that brand ) - i have a graphic EQ on every single profile. With that EQ i cut out lows (usually below 150) and the highs (usually above 5500). For heavier stuff (e.g. with palm muted gain sounds) i can drive up the 80hz/160hz to get some oompf, and adjust the hights (1250/5000) to take off some edges.
This only works, if i'm happy with the rest of the profile of course.
I then test the sound over the PA in the band setting to adjust. If i'm completely off, i usually start over.
For my 2x12 cab, i compared the PA output (which is mainly flat with a low-cut at around 80hz) to the powered monitor output and adjusted the EQ to sound as close as possible to the PA.
This works really well, and i blow everything out of my way. Here is a link to a soundcheck video. The right guitar (the one next to the keys) is kemper powered and i think it really cuts through nicely: Soundcheck Kemper powered Guitar

if you compare, have it powered into the cab otherwise you have to do the recording comparison.
