My Kemper still randomly skips performances using the exterior buttons. It always has and the new software 8.7 hasn't changed it. What 8.7 did was increase my analog output volume tremendously. I have since compensated.

Yes, I have experienced similar issues in the past with previous RM versions. However, right now my issue is that sometimes trying to load a new rig into a performance slot (with existing rig) does nothing. I typically have to restart RM several times and then it will work. Other times RM will load a new rig into an existing performance without issue. Also, it seems that this version of RM takes much longer to communicate changes to the profiler along the USB. I've tried all my usb2.0 slots and several cables. I'm just hoping a new version of RM will return to previous speeds and performance behavior.
I won't bother with support anymore unless I run into a hardware issue. Kemper has been great about software updates and stretching, I leave them to their strengths.

Thanks, man. I'm a Blackmore fan and these are great. Love the lower gain profiles.
-
I have also noted that there is a great amount of lag in the communications from the Rig Manager to the Kemper via the USB. If I save a performance using Rig Manager controls, there is more than usual lag before the Kemper executes the command.
-
I don't know about the Kemper Remote issue, but when I use the Kemper's buttons to switch performances I have always had trouble with lag and skipping performances. Thankfully, performance change with my midi controller does not suffer from that issue.

There were updates in the past that affected my Kemper's tone as well. Some of it was due to EQ changes, but some was due to problems updating the performances. If I loaded a performance from an old rig manager into the Kemper, then updated the Kemper and Rig Manager, then there was an issue.
Spent a lot of time re-amping with Kemper Support and they could not replicate. Finally, they implied I had done something during re-amping and that I was wasting their time. I love my Kemper and appreciate Kemper's continuous improvement, but they have a way to go on customer service in trouble shooting.
If you are experiencing a non-hardware issue, then remove your performances from the Kemper (store them on the computer, of course) and update rig manager and the Kemper. Then reload your performances back to the Kemper. That's how I solved my problem.

Yes, my Kemper skips a performance if I use the external buttons to change performance up or down. I use a midi controller and it seldom skips with it, so I just tolerate the issue. Never bothered support with it as they would probably tell me it was my imagination or I was making it up.

No idea. I hope that Kemper takes all the data I sent and finds why the data structure was corrupted.
*Edit*
I do know that a they are aware of a bug that can cause the Kemper to replace all the rigs in your performances with the crunch rig if they are on the Kemper when you upgrade the OS. I don't know if that was related to what happened to mine. The new OS increased the dBs of adjustment in Studio EQ so that may have played a role in what I experienced.

Yes the Re-Amps showed a difference, but Support told me that my Profiler diagnostic was corrupted so my Kemper data structure was corrupt. That may well have been the culprit. I have reformatted my Kemper to factory conditions and my reverbs and Studio EQs seem to be back to normal. However, now some of my effects factory presets seem to be missing. I'm tracking that down right now.

After speaking with Support, I ended up reformatting my Kemper. Perhaps that would help you as well, Bernard. Please be certain to create a backup if possible and make sure your rigs and/or performances are saved to your computer.
This is the procedure I was given to reset my Kemper. Please note that your Kemper will return to factory settings, so you will need to setup your preferences again, like any control pedals, clean, dist sense and so on.
In order to reset the PROFILER to the factory default state please perform the following steps:
1. First, consider creating a backup as this process will delete all user data and reset all global settings.
2. Upgrade to the current PROFILER operating system release software. If your Profiler is currently running a version older than 7.3.2 you need to update to that version first. You can find it here
https://www.kemper-amps.com/downloads/8/Ol…ftware-Versions
3. Switch the PROFILER Head or Rack model off and press and hold soft button 1 (left above the display) while powering it on into tuner mode.
4. Keep holding the soft button until "System Maintenance " appears on the display.
5. In maintenance mode press "Recovery", "Flash Init", "Yes", "Ok".
6. Then press the Reboot soft button and reboot or simply restart the PROFILER with the chicken-head knob.
Your Profiler will start with a single rig in memory (Crunch). Drag your performances and rigs to the corresponding "My Profiler" locations in Rig Manager.
Thanks,
J

I'm glad you identified the trouble maker!
There is a tendency to relate really any issue to the last software update ... and there is always a last software update given the fact that we are constantly enhancing the software. Since nearly 100% of issues are not update related, it is most effective to seriously investigate other options first. This is even more evident for release revisions, which have usually been tested in the field since weeks if not months.
You can assume that within one day after publishing about 1000 users have already upgraded and if you are the only one experiencing a particular significant change of sound or aborts or loss of volume .... it's probably not the update.
That really sounds a bit condescending. Just because this time it was related to a cable, you are assuming that others who experienced similar problems were dealing with cable issues. I have had very few issues with my Kemper and have only "bothered" support with it twice. I have experienced no output on my left stereo out in my studio and on stage. It has happened three or four times over the past two years and every time I cycled the power on my Kemper and the problem disappeared.
The first time it happened I changed my XLR output cables and it didn't help. So, I powered the Kemper down and turned it back on and it was fine. From then on, I just cycle the power on the Kemper and the last three times that has fixed the issue.

Currently dealing with support. See the thread (Its probably just me, BUT......... has the 8.2.2 OS changed the sound and feel of your Kemper?) for updates.

Hi, bluzgtr68.
Did reverting to the previous beta solve the problem?
Yes, there were noticeable differences in the Reverb "strength" and decays and the EQ of my performances. You see I never "tweak" rigs, but use performances to contain my EQ and effects tweaks. Maybe I've been doing it wrong all along.
I'm currently doing re-amped examples for support. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
Thanks.
