I got an old Yamaha DG-80 Combo to use only the power + speaker with the Kemper stage - it's working great to play at home. But I must say I like the G12T-75 sound a lot and this combo has a G12H-100 which should be very close to that. Surprisingly this Yamaha also has an additional output for an external speaker while it's also very easy to unplug the main speaker and just plug a different one...overall very happy with the results as it was a relatively cheap power amp

Would you mind giving more details here (e.g. cab / speakers and mic)?

Nice; overall good classic tones by hearing the samples -- nice playing too. More on the bright side I guess given the amp and the strat, which I actually like.
The "swedish lead" however I guess could be more full...not sure but maybe the eq or something made that one sound thin...full gain in bridge pick-up sounded awesome so I was expecting more from the neck just my opinion.Check mine if you can (I did some profiling also of a small amp this weekend; my 2nd experience with profiling): a Randall RD5C with some front boost...I posted in this Free Profiles section

Mick,
Tried to get something similar with one profile I did: Profiled: Randall RD5C 5W All Tube Combo (Boosted) - please share your thoughts
Would appreciate feedback

A lot of that type of sound is created by recording multple guitar tracks, and adding Delay and Reverb.
If you start with any similar gain sound (Marshall for example), EQ it to sound similar with your guitar, add a doubling delay and/or slightly detuned pitch doubling, and some Reverb, you will be very close to that sound.
I agree. Several tracks to get that overall tone for sure. I would get some JCM800 maxed profile and add a boost pedal in front...try different cabs/mics... But I would go with G12T-75 speakers.

Hi everyone.
Well, I'm purchasing the PreSonus Audiobox1818VSL Monday. Should help out fine.
I have a Presonus Audiobox as well. Works fine with the Kemper.
After you have the Presonus working fine and installed (plugged through usb), just connect cables from the Kemper main outs to the Presonus inputs. Your guitar then to the Kemper input.
Remember to adjust levels so your Presonus does not clip (i.e. red light clipping indicator for each input in the Presonus).

Hi guys...just did my second profile here. It is from a Randall RD5C with PGA57 mic. Amp is a Single Channel all tube 5 watt (12AX7/6V6) 1×10 Combo with Gain, Tone, Master Volume (http://www.randallamplifiers.com/product/rd5c/).
I did two profiles: one boosted with a Joyo Roll Boost (awesome result) and another boosted with a Boss SD-1 Made in Japan (not so awesome). Please let me know what you think!

The idea also is to simplify the process, adding thousands of IRs to the thousands of Profiles can very easily put anyone back in a rabbit hole of never ending possibilities,. The simplest fastest approach I found so far is to audition/rather than edit profiles and tinker with cabs. It's basically trying to get rid of all habits, you get to something that sounds great or amazing, and then you say, let me try to swap the Impulse response and see if I can further improve, so instead of playing. time is kind of wasted on exploring the clearly never ending possibilities. However, many Kemper users on this forum, found their sound by simply swapping cabs, so it is a very good valid option too.
keep in mind, Kemper was designed to enable guitar players to utilize a simple fast approach to tone, with very few powerful parameters, there isn't the plethora of parameters as other modelers, but there's the plethora of profiles that can lead to similar waste of time and I can see how some, with IRs, cans still get caught in a never ending pursuit.I agree. I started by swapping things and now I am more looking for profiles that fulfill my needs out of the box without much tweaking in any parameters besides adding boost in front and delay / reverb in the end.
You may also be interested in this. I don't consider the post derailing too much.
I shot that direct profile of the amp too (video is direct amp signal plus IR). For me that is great flexibility...
1) Shoot direct profile of an amp i like And then be able to use a large variety of IR and test in mix. I prefer that to swapping kemper cabs for sure.
2) Then if something works nice, can use the IR in kemper or, even better, loaded after kemper in external hardware ir loader.
If a studio profile is good, it's good, but this adds flexibility that can be useful for some. I tend to shoot many direct profiles lately because of this.
Now for recording purposes and mixing for sure having a good set of IRs with the flexibility of testing them without changing original tone is an awesome thing! -

Is there an A/B comparison somewhere showing same CAB / MIC in studio profile versus CAB / MIC from IR in a merged profile?
I would love to see that as I am an IR believer so far, although I read several users saying Kemper captures it better in profiling process...HOWEVER I also read that Kemper actually does something similar to IR and this is why he can "import" IRs...and that during this import process Kemper "cuts" the IR (makes it shorter) so there is quality loss... -

I bought my kemper 4 weeks ago...so far so good. Impressive real amp tones...also I am really enjoying the forum here as everyone share profiles, tips, opinions etc. Nice!

I guess IRs are a good option as if they are well made you wouldn't be able to tell the difference from the real thing. I even did a profile last week with IRs through VST just to capture the "cab" part on Kemper (instead of buying an IR and converting to Kemper file as I already had bought the IR in my torpedo wall of sound plugin). Results were very good in my opinion.

Did some fast recording here with your profile:

Suggestion: I would add this link in the first post https://marshallamps.com/live-for-music…th-anniversary/ and include the exact model (I know you mentioned already to everyone in one post that this is the original EL34 model, but including this type of information in the original post would really help who is looking for this kind of killer sound).
Just a suggestion though...
Thanks again! -
