All other devices, even the cheaper ones, allow for a larger chain of post-amp effects. If I use a parametric EQ and a +3dB boost for solos, I'm left with just a delay and a reverb, and I can't even use a second delay or a modulation effect. Since the effect footswitches don't have a "hold" function, I think this could be implemented.
The best solution would be something like an A/B function, allowing users to toggle between two effects in the same slot. Another simple fix that would help mitigate the issue would be: when pressing and holding an effect footswitch, the Kemper should allow modifying a parameter of the effect, simulating an A/B channel for the same effect. For example, I could have a simple delay and switch to a dotted eighth delay with a higher mix, which would be very useful.
Fractal, Quad Cortex, Helix—all of them allow for much more complex effect chains. I love the Kemper, but these limitations significantly hinder live use, forcing me to create an excessive number of presets and tap on multiple footswitches just to achieve the different sounds I need.
