Yeah, controlling Direct Out by Power Boost is like a problematic unwanted feature.
Wish that feature could be removed then I would be all set.

Yeah, I forgot to mention. Kemper Power Kabinet volume is already at max but it cannot keep up with Unpowered Kabinet.
I am want to achieve the balance at low volumes both 200w and 600w are more than enough for me.
I believe this can be done by software rather than adding an attenuator. -
I have a simple setup
- Kemper Kabinet Unpowered to Kemper PowerHead via Speaker Output
- Kemper Kabinet Powered to Kemper PowerHead via Direct Output
- Reference monitors connect to my DAC and DAC to S/PDIF out
The problem:
Cannot balance Kabinets (Powered/Unpowered) in stereo mode.Attempts:
- If disable "Stereo Mode" option, then the volume for Monitor Out and Direct Out can be adjusted independently and achieve the desired balance, the problem with this approach is that then sound coloring from the Kabinet to right one do not match. Stereo Mode applies Cabinet Imprints, Bass Boost coloring to both sides.
- "Panarama" knob from Rig settings can help to balance left/right keeping the "Stereo Mode". I can balance by setting that to something near +3.5, +4.0 but that unbalances my Studio Speakers
- Add a power attenuator to Speaker Out of Kemper. This is a bit silly. But sounds like the only viable option.

One side of the stereo signal is the MONITOR OUT => internal power amp => unpowered cabinet.
The other side is the DIRECT OUT => powered cabinet (or external power amp with unpowered cabinet).
As soon as you activate Monitor Stereo, all settings like Kemper Kone mode, Monitor Cab. Off., Sweetening, Directivity, Bass Boost, Monitor Output EQ,.... affect both sides of the stereo signal - so also the DIRECT OUT.
I did exactly the same connected the powered output to passive Kabinet and DIRECT OUT to the Powered Kabinet and I have check "Monitor Stereo".
I used stereo ping pong sounds to me pretty mono. I did the same test with headphones to make sure that my effect is set correctly. -

I do no reamping. I feed optic SPDIF to Chord Hugo 2. Taking over DAC responsibility from Kemper to Hugo ?. Hugo 2 is a better DAC than Kemper.I also see no point in converting Digital signal to Analog and then Analog to Digital when it comes to recording.

BayouTexan I need optic S/PDIF as well.
Complicated setup I know

I am sorry since this thread looks old and obsolete. But I have this conversation with one of my friends and he seriously believes using S/PDIF out of Kemper for recording is a stupid idea.
I am curious does it still make more sense to use S/PDIF out of device which is all signal process happens in digital instead of having Kemper to convert the digital signal to analogue and then use Scarlett 2i2 or some other device to convert it back to digital again? Doesn't excessive DA/AD conversations hurt the harmonics? Does it make the recording workflow more dependent on cable quality, audio interface quality and possibly noise environment?
I am asking this because I am using Zoom U-44 S/PDIF directly connected to Kemper. Please advice if this is not a good idea.

Got it. Need to set the input in "Audio Midi Setup" to 96Khz 32bit manually. It does not work in slave mode.
Also you need to make sure no mic capsule is connected.
GearJocke 96Khz 32 bit is not even enough BTW. I still to upsampling on top of that.

Hey, any of you U-44 users managed to to sync it with Kemper at 96Khz?
Mine only works on 44Khz -
citizengain Would provide the link to the cable you bought?
I have the same issue with Ubiquity POE switches.I also believe this problem can be fixed by a software update. POE request the voltage needed and remote needs to request a little more than it is doing now.,

Curious if anyone got audio quality from plugging the guitar to an external S/PDIF ADC and connecting it to S/PDIF IN of Kemper?
Something like Guitar -> ADC Convertor -> SPDIF CABLE -> Kemper? -
The other way to looking at this problem.
If I want to stack two Kabinets does it look better to do one Power and one Unpower? or two Unpowered? Or wait and pray that someday Kemper will make B version?
-
On the other hand I can get a Power Kabinet and then I am not limited to Kemper
Also the BA mod seems that they do not add a new amp, it's like that Kemper comes with 2x300W amp that is already bridged BA just unbridge them.

I want my two Kabinets in stereo.
Which road would you take? mod PowerHead by BritishAudio and get two Passive Kabinets?
Or get a a Power Kabinet and a Kabinet?
I only use Kemper at home.
