I have 36 rigs loaded on my KPA. However, I've got 1000s in my local library in folders so I can find things easily. I find the sound I need and load it to the Kemper. Its quicker to boot up too when there's not so many rigs on the KPA (I think).

did you install those speakers yourself?
Yes I did. It was no problem at all. (Marshall 1936 cab)

I run 2 K12H-200TCs in series in a 2x12, so 16ohm which should be about 400w max with the Kemper (powered rack in my case). Plenty loud enough for me. The Kemper also goes into the PA in stereo.

Its not exactly science but in my experience you'd need at least 400-500watts of transistor amp to get the same headroom as with a 50/100w valve guitar amp. Whichis probably why the powered Kemper is 400/600w.

I've rehearsed (and gigged) with 2 x Celestion F12-X200's in a Marshall 2x12 and it was flipping great. No complaints from me or the other members. However, in that constant search for "amp in the room", I've now put 2 x K12H-200TCs in the cab and, to my ears, it sounds way better than the F12s. (That's using Kone Imprints, mainly Greenback and V30). Haven't rehearsed with it yet though.

Yikes 4 Kones!!! Probably be able to hear you from my house

I was using FR but for my monitoring but I do like the Imprint sound a bit better. The FR is still good, just not so "live".
Its tricky as I play a mix of gigs (well I did), small and large so how the kit is used varies. Sometimes just backline, sometimes through the PA monitoring with IEMs, sometimes both etc.

With the XLRs, you'll get the sound of the profile with the cab section, not the imprints.
OK I understand that thanks. I guess that's something to be slightly wary of if you're super concerned about the tone that the audience will hear.

Thank you Carp I will give those a try.

I'm using Kone Imprints with 2x Celestion K12H-200TCs in a Marshall 1936 cab and it sounds awesome.
Just wondering what will happen on the XLR outs to PA? Guess I should RTFM

Hi all
Has anyone got a note of settings for the expression pedal that'll make it behave like a Dunlop Cry baby? I've played around with my settings but the WAH is all over the place, really hard to get a decent sound from it, nothing like a real Cry Baby
Cheers

Hi all.
Which profile type(s) works best with the KOne if you're going to try and use Imprints?
It confuses me that you might use a studio profile (with for example a Greenback speaker) and then set the Kone Imprint for a Creamback. Surely that won't work, or will it?

I've only had one failure at a gig with a tube amp. Had about 30 minutes to go and a power tube went out. Limped through the end. That being said I agree with your overall sentiment.
The dreaded "single point of failure"

Going to have to get a couple of Kones (or maybe Celestion K12H-200TCs) and compare with my two F12-X200s.

There is no need for anyone else to cut the cable - an adapter can be attached.
The Neutrik NE8MC RJ45 cable connector carrier for pre-assembled RJ45 plugs consists of a chromium shell, fixing disk, chuck, bushing and boot. Packed with two cable protection elements for cable diameter either up to 5 mm or 8 mm.
Says "Discontinued" on Neutrik's site

I don't know whether this is relevant to this thread or not but my (limited) experience of Kemper profiles is that to get a good sound you really need to be using (1) the same type of pickup as was used to refine the profile (ie HB or SC) and (2) don't fiddle with the gain control, ie leave it where it was on the profile. If the gain isn't right for your sound, then find another profile that is. IME deviating away from the gain used in the profile totally changes the colour / characteristic of the sound and to my ears usually ends up sounding horrible.
I'm using my powered KPA with 2 Celestion F12-X200s in a Marshall 2x12. Needs some top taking off above 8-9khz to get rid of the fizz as the Celestions are pretty "toppy", but sounds pretty awesome to me. In a lot of respects the KPA sounds as good or even better than my amps (Marshall 6100, 6101, 2203 & 2558).
PS I tried profiling my own amps but the results sucked so I'm sticking to "paid for" profiles for the time being
I can get pretty close to that elusive "in the room" sound and with my band it sounds fab in the mix.
BTW I'm using mainly TMS, Tone Junkie, M Britt and Guido Bungenstock profiles.
