I've put together a new, free demo pack with 6 profiles, including 2 brand new profiles that aren't included in any of the profile packs. So, even if you have already purchased BHP packs, go ahead and download this free demo pack as well.

    • BHP MBStudio Cln Smells - That famous opening of Smells Like Teen Spirit was played through a Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp. There's a lot of clean character in that 2u beast of a preamp, and it's faithfully recreated here.

    • BHP DaMeter Plexi - The Demeter TGP-3 was made famous by Dean Deleo from Stone Temple Pilots. That 2u, 3 channel preamp is FULL of rich, glorious tones that give Fender, Marshall and Dumble's a run for their money. This tone is a similar to a Plexi, just starting to break up.

    • BHP CustE+ Ch2 Rhythm - The Custom Audio CAE3+ was a purple-ish beast that came around towards the end of the rack era, and dropped immediately into Lukather and Landau's racks. The tones you can squeeze out of it are refined and tough at the same time. This preamp is capable of sparkly cleans, and the most searing saturated lead tones, but this profile showcases one of channel 2's strengths. It's a fantastic rocking rhythm tone. This profile is included in the CustE+ pack.

    • BHP Sold88 Ch3 Ratt Jr. - The Soldano X88r is the Thor of rack preamps. Huge fat leads, sharp or warm, and punchy across the board. This profile is pulled from the Sold88 pack, and is meant to recreate Warren DiMartini's Soldano tone on ,"Way Cool Jr.".

    • BHP KHQ4 OD Gain Maxx - comes from the KHQaatro pack. This pack after surprises people because the Kitty Hawk Quattro is a pretty rare piece. Original Kitty Hawk designs were based on old Mesa Boogie and Dumble designs. The OD Gain Maxx profile recreates a fat fat fat tone from channel 4 of the Quattro preamp.

    • BHP Eggy Ch4 Heavy - This profile is not available in any of the other BHP profile packs. It recreates a tone from my factory modified Egnater ie4 preamp. It's heavy, and crushing, but not at the expense of great tone. It's a beast.

    Enjoy!

    -Michael

The Big Hairy Profiles SloWat Profile Pack contains 32 profiles for the KPA.

The BHP SloWat Pack seeks to recreate the tones from a rare (1 of 3) 1988 Soldano/ Hiwatt rackmount head hand built by Mike Soldano. It is a Hiwatt DR front end with an SLO power section. The amp works just like a Hiwatt other than the inputs for the Normal and Bright channels are linked to one input ala David Gilmour. It is 100 watts running 5881/6L6 tubes.

Despite despite being crafted by one of the godfathers of gain, Mike Soldano, the amp is NOT a gain monster. Instead, it delivers powerful and pure bad-ass tone with a rock attitude. On it's own it goes from clean to broken up, but it's a perfect pedal platform. This profile pack recreates tones of the amp itself as well as many amp pedal combinations, like; 5150 pedal, Box Of Rock, Fuzz Face, JHS AT Drive, Big Muff, Basic Audio Gnarly Fuzz, Colorsound Overdriver, and Little Green Wonder.

    Hey Kemperians

There's quite a lot Petrucci stuff on this forum. Great rigs, delays and so on.

    So...

I would like to hear what you think is the best Petrucci lead tone (both free rigs and commercial)

If you're looking for Images and Words era Petrucci tones, check out my Trix (Triaxis / 2:90 / Recto 4x12)

    BIGHAIRYPROFILES - BHP TRIX PROFILEPACK

    http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3…3R7tHNYQkrs&s=1

Big Hairy Profiles - TRIX Profile Pack! This pack contains 45 profiles for the Kemper Profiling Amplifier. The TRIX Profile Pack seeks to recreate many classic tones from rigs that included the MESA/Boogie TriAxis Programmable Preamp.

TriAxis was designed to work in conjunction with the 2:90 power amp. It is the perfect companion to the TriAxis and was used for most of the profiling (TriAxis > 2:90 > Mesa Recto 4x12).

Despite looking like one of the most futuristic preamps ever made, the TriAxis is an incredibly soulful preamp and is capable huge range of tones, from fat earthy cleans to heavy blues, all the way to crystal clear tones and crushing metal. The TriAxis is an infinite source of amazing tones, and is one of my favorite amps ever made.

In this pack I created a cross section of tones from clean to super heavy, as well as specifically designed profiles that seek to recreate classic Petrucci’s rack Dream Theater tones. There are also Hetfield & Hammett Metallica tones, some of my favorite roots flavored Mk1 tones, and some very authentic Andy Timmons tones that incorporated some extra Timmons pedals to nail the profile.

BIG HAIRY PROFILES - BHP DMTR PROFILE PACK

    http://bighairyprofiles.com/item/bhp-dmtr-profile-pack

    ($14.99)

The BHP DMTR Profile Pack seeks to recreate the classic guitar tones from rigs and recordings that incorporated the Demeter TGA-3 amplifier and TGP-3 preamp + VHT power amp combination. The TGP+VHT rig is the notorious amp combination that Dean DeLeo has used to create the signature Stone Temple Pilots tones. The TGA is the 3 channel Demeter head that was used by great guitarists such as Bonnie Raitt and Michael Ward, and Ben Harper. TGA and TGP are masterful designs of James Demeter. The are 3 channel designs that range from Fender Tweed to bomastic furry Marshall tones, all with a little unique Demeter fairy dust. Channel 1 alone would be a phenomenally versatile amp that goes from clean to plexi, but channels 2 and 3 progressively take the tones to new levels of energy and gain.
The BHG DMTR is a pack of 31 profiles for use with the Kemper Profiling Amplifier.

Man I gotta check these out. Are these merged or studio profiles?

Hi! They are studio profiles. To be honest, I tried REALLY REALLY hard to get the merged profiles to sound great. In my experience, the studio profiles always sounded closest to the source sound. So I went with that. Once I get all of my preamps profiled that I'm planning on putting out, I'll go back and try again. I would probably just add them into the packs as an update, and send email updates to anyone who purchased that pack. But, that wouldn't be till later, or next year I'm sure.

New BHP Sold88 Profile Pack is available at bighairyprofiles.com

The BHP Sold88 Profile Pack seeks to recreate the classic guitar tones from rigs and recordings that incorporated the Solano X88r. The X88r was one of the crown jewels of the rack era preamps, and was widely used by studio guitarists, and rock, and pop guitarists alike. Legendary studio guitarists like Steve Lukather and Michael Landau used the X88r extensively, while a generation of guitarists followed suit. The Sold88 tones were created using multiple power amps, speakers, mics and cabinets.

The BHG Sold88 is a pack of 36 profiles for use with the Kemper Profiling Amplifier.

Wow... grew up with these bands, too. White Lion, Skid Row... always wanted that sound. I was a bit disappointed with the MW pack, so looking forward to trying yours. <img src="https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/wcf/images/smilies/thumbsup.png" alt="" />

Thanks. I bought the MW too. They're good, but not exactly what I was personally looking for as a big fan of MW and the records he produced. That was part of the spark that got me profiling my own. But to be fair, I don't think that's really what they were going for with their pack.

It's one of the things I really like about the KPA. A lot of personality comes through, depending on who is doing the profiling. It's not really a simple amp cloner.

Killer profiles. I'd like to purchase them using PayPal, but not having any luck. BHP site cart links to PayPal and logs me into my account, but with no purchasing information. Anyone else having Big Hairy troubles purchasing these with PayPal?

Hi Chops! Sorry the PayPal was acting up. Glad we got it worked out though. If anyone else has trouble, please email me directly. bhp.bighairyprofiles@gmail.com
