I wanted my setup to be dead simple to setup and maintain, lightweight, and robust enough to travel with. I'm using a Mastermind GT 22 with 2 mission engineering SP-1s on a Pedaltrain Novo 32.

    Pros:
    - Flawless craftsmanship
    - Easy to program directly
    - Works readily with a Kemper right out of the box
    - Can control anything midi (I've had it control 5 things simultaneously with one button press and it was easy to do)
    - Software for advanced programming is stellar
    - LEDs can be read under any lighting condition I've come across
    - Built like a tank but still lightweight
    - Multiple pages and modes
    - Powered by 7 pin so with wireless in the rack only 1 cable to run.
    - Programmable state buttons and the layout is whatever you want it to be
    - Tuner function that toggles the Kempers tuner with a readout on the floor

    Cons:
    - Expensive. Oh My Goodness you paid what for that?!?!? kind of expensive.

cool setup, i wish you had a clear picture of the back of the rig so I could see how you have hooked up the kemper and the axe fx. cheers.

Here's a link to the reference I used to do it: http://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/axe-fx…-r.90422/page-2

In the rig I'm using the Axe primarily for FX...lol...and the kemper for pure amp sweetness, although there are times when I would use the Axe singularly. I then program the mastermind to send the midi changes to both so I can get the right amp with the right effects without having to do anything terribly dodgy. The effects gizmo allow me to either use the Axe or Kemper alone or together as well as select my input to either be from the wireless unit or direct in the event that the wireless unit craps out or I just want to use an instrument cable. The output is either through the radial DI or a Hi Z and the Midi box in the lower right allows me to send power to the GT over a 7 pin.

First, congrats on your Kemper! It's a wonderful tool to have in your arsenal!

Now more directly to your question, I'm not an expert, I set my kemper and have forgotten most of it but is it possible that the power amp in the kemper is turned off? You can find that in the output menu. Second, check to ensure that your input is set to wherever you are going to plug your guitar into. Lastly, because you are using an amp cab instead of the profiled cab, make sure you turn off the cab in the profile you are running.

    Thanks och tack!

The "tone snob" friends I have have actually been positively surprised. Sure, there's always some caveat like "it sounds great but doesn't really feel right" but my guess that's just the feel of listening through studio monitors rather than sitting by the amp and speaker. Takes some getting used to I guess.
I'll be sure ask them about how important the feel is when they're carrying 50 kg of gear up and down the stage. :D

Admittedly I was always one of those "tone snobs". You hit the nail on the head about feel, that's why I purchased my kemper with the optional power amp. The feel of a speaker cone pushing air, the ambience of the room, and interacting with the pure physicality of it all is a big thing to deal with when going digital and it was a struggle for me for quite a while. I just kept repeating to myself again and again that while the feel may be off the sound that is going out the mains is extraordinarily true. Unfortunately for me going digital hasn't meant going on a gear weight diet. My rack is 100lbs (10 spaces of pure joy and storage) and my pedal board weighs about half of what my analog board weighed, but this case doesn't have rollers. Who knew a midi controller and a couple of expression pedals weighed so much...

<p>Soooooo much to enjoy with the Kemper...</p>

    <p>Welcome and good hunting (for profiles)&nbsp;<img alt="smiley" src="https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/wcf/js/3rdParty/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png" style="height:23px; width:23px" title="smiley" /></p>

This one maybe? The tone is nothing but awesome. Tasty playing, too. Do you achieve it? Can you tell which MBritt profile it is?

That's the one. I'll go back through my conversations with him to get the exact profile.

Came across a guy named Mark Cuthbertson playing one on Youtube. I was immediately taken with the tone so I reached out to him to find out exactly what he used to achieve it. I was surprised that the answer was nothing more than a Kemper with an MBritt profile and a OD pedal from Rockett Pedals called the Blue Note. I'd never heard a guitar sound quite like that; very distinctive, very articulate. After that it was just a matter of reaching out to Ronin Guitars and deciding what I wanted. It took about 9 months to build but I can say that it was worth the wait and every penny. The setup and finish of the instrument is the best I have ever played. The articulation and balance from string to string is perfect. Add on to that, the guys at Ronin are absolutely the best to work with.

My newest love, a Ronin Badmoon:

I've got two cases that I use. One is a simple 4u rack that I'll load my kemper into for small gigs or when I use my pedalboard. It basically contains a power conditioner and the Kemper. The other, my main rig, is for larger shows. That's a 10u rack that includes wireless, an Axe FX 2 for effects, Kemper for amps, drawer, conditioner, mini effects gizmo, etc. I hate lugging the big rig around as it weighs close to 90 lbs but man does it sounds great. Separate pedaltrain case for my mastermind gt-22. I'd love to be able just to lug the kemper around and not need the Axe but Kemper's effects aren't close yet IMHO.

I'm looking into this: http://www.skymall.com/MPC-1DS/UpCart…lding-Cart.html to lug the big rack around as a standard dolly just won't work.
