    There's so many different technologies/protocols and it would be impossible to pick one that fits all. And either of them significantly adds to the cost. So probably the way to go will be ADAT or dual ADAT because it's pretty easy to add it into an existing digital (studio) infrastructure ... and its ports take very little space (as opposed to e.g. 4 AES/EBU XLR Inputs + 4 AES/EBU XLR Outputs)

    Don't forget DB25 ports (8x AES/EBU)

My Fireface UFX takes AES/EBU inputs and I have to run converter cables to get the KPA digital signal in.

    Professional Studio Grade as well as Pro Live Reinforcement equipment uses AES/EBU

    I believe the same technology would be used as "Constant Latency"? If that works for reampling, I'd expect it to be as effective with two profiles in parallel.

    you would be amazed how difficult is to make a competent audio driver in this day and age

    i'm not talking about class compliant usb..

    do you know about another famous German company called RME?

    If Kemper is able to bring a usb 2.0 driver for their devices as good as RME then they would make my day too! :*

    i think this is totally legit coming from an user that is been using kemper since 2011

    it's been 8 years!

    maybe i'm old school but in the past users used to demand and request their needs

    i don't take paternalist dictations from corporations

    the clear example is Apple and why i personally moved to windows

    that was a hard decision for me to take

    but it's clear that they don't listen to their professional users

    only consumers, fanboys and girls..

    the reality is that we could have a NEW kemper with dual amp capability, better digital I/O's, and audio interface at the same price

    but hey, everyone is owner of it's own money

    so follow your religious mind and just buy two kempers!

    the old units cannot be slaved from another digital clock

    the new kemper stage is different in that regard

    in fact, in order to accommodate other sampling rates on the old units, all they did was to convert it but the resolution is still 44.1KHz

    so unless they re-designed the whole code for the kemper, they won't be able to release a more powerful kemper capable to process two amps.. that's why

    what it p..... me off is that they don't give us more and better digital IO's!

    at least the new kemper stage can be slaved to another digital clock in the studio, which is huge.

    something that sadly cannot be done with the old units..

    so if we need dual amps, we still need to buy two kempers and carry both around..

    or buy a helix or a fractal..

    It's absolutely ridiculous that the SPDIF input can only be inserted for re-amping in front of the amp!

    It totally makes sense to enable the SPDIF to insert FX too from external hardware such as the Fractal or many other FX units as most guitar FX units have SPDIF ports at the back..

    As well as send FX from a computer interface!!

    This would lower the latency and the degradation of the signal enormously, as well as expanding the FX possibilities infinitely..

    The new Kemper floorboard unit will bring 2x FX Loops.. <X

    Why do they not enable the SPDIF for inserting FX on the older units at least now??

    It's a no brainer!!

    At the moment, the only way to return external FX to the Kemper's FX Loop is by routing the signal through the analog domain using fixed cables and passing multiple D/A D/A stages.

    Why not to enable the SPDIF to send and return external FX to the Kemper FX Loop Section digitally???

    This would be a massive benefit as we could send FX from our computer interface digitally without degrading the signal, lowering the latency considerably, and expanding the FX possibilities for the Kemper enormously.

    All without having to change a single cable!

    We could also use this method to insert FX from external hardware units (e.g. many multi-FX racks have SPDIF ports at the back)

    But since the begining, the SPDIF input is been capped and can only be used for re-amping external sources in front of the amp...

    Why??

    Yes, but this unit has 3x extra independent outputs (8x in total)

    Remember, that in the old unit you can configure the outputs to anything you like (Master, Stack, etc.), which means the possibilities for Wet Dry Rigs have increased substantially!

    If you run all those outputs separately through a mixer summing the Dry signal with 2x stereo tracks of FX, the sound will become larger than life! :D

    Now, what I don't think we won't be able to do (unless there's more dsp on this one) is to run multiple/different amps..
