    Control cabinet Resonanz (ck)
… there is a good method to control and emphasize a cabinet resonance and it has always been there for everyone. Position a peak equalizer after the cabinet and tune it to somewhere between 75 and 120 Hz to catch the resonance. Set Q factor to 0.7 or 1.0 or more. Tweak Eq gain to your liking.

    Get clean glassy sound (ck)
For the glassy sound of vintage amps on the edge we advise to turn up Tube Shape. Check it out!

Kemper Profiler runs on 44.1kHz internal sample rate? (ck)
No, the Profiler has always been running on different sample rates at the same time, up to about 700 MHz

Tonal difference v1 profile with MKI vs MKII units (Timo)
    There isn't a tonal difference….

    Please add your findings.

Sure I get that, and we'll only really know when more tests are done. But I find it rather curious when Kemper says there isn't any difference, but then user experience tells a different story. I'm not disputing anything, simply saying there's conflicting reports. I'm not able to do an A/B test so it will be interesting if there is something to it, even if it's an unintentional consequence. If not, then no issue. It'll just be interesting to know.

    Have a look here

I still got problems with my KPP. After several attemps I finally managed to update RM as well as the Player.

If I try to connect the KPP RG shows "retrieving list of stomp effect" and nothing happens. Quitting RM and restarting it there's another message "" syncing global data 10 items left" and nothing happens.

I can do it as often, those 2 messages switch to one another with the next attempts. I can't access my KPP anymore 🥹 The lights on the left are flashing permanently....(as if there's some data exchange)

Any tips for me? Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻

I had also a problem with sync. Got always the message

I have done also a factory reset without luck.
I opened a ticket but of course it was late in the evenening and till now I got no response.

In the meantime I found a solution. I am using RIGManager on a windows 11 system and found in directory
    C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Kemper Amps\Sync\ a file with APEcUdVDRzO.db
I have done a backup of the complete Kemper Amps directory and deleted the file APEcUdVDRzO.db
After this syncing process starts in RIGManagrer and all goes well.
In genereal I think its better you report your problem to kemper support. In case you tried my solution please backup the files just in case...

That’s totally true :) I only trust my own ears. Mine was not a subtle difference. After using the OG toaster for 13 years, the Player felt like a totally different piece if gear soundwise. Whatever it is, I’m very happy. And whatever people - and Kemper - says, I will fall into the category, you mention :)

Please let us hear your improved sound. Please upload the audio you recorded with your player using the profile, and the DI audio file from my Dropbox, along with a note about which firmware you're using.

I don't need to comment on this thread anymore. Some of us who have the new devices and also the OG have repeatedly stated that they are improved, even when using our previous rigs/profiles. For some reason its rubbing peoplethe wrong way with the crazy idea that newer processors improve things. go figure.

According to Kemper, there are no differences in sound.
But putting that aside, one of the best features of digital equipment is that digital processing always delivers the same results.
If that's not the case, then it's a defect. A faster processor can deliver the result faster, but not better.
Audio quality improvements/changes can only be achieved with optimized/different/buggy software.
In fact, I was able to hear and measure differences in sound with different firmware versions.
You can find my comparising here:

I would really appreciate it if someone could confirm or refute this.

Sorry to be a bit of a grinch, but I'm not sure what the point of this is?

That's exactly what I wanted to find out what could be the problem
Yesterday I did a quick recording over guitar input (analog) and compared it with the digital recordings using tone match.
There is no real change here either. Latency is also the same on all devices except slightly faster booting and switching between slots.
At least I was able to determine (for me) that the differences in sound on my devices are due to the software and not the hardware.

Since not everyone has MK1 and MK2 devices, I have made my results available.
This means that everyone can compare their own device with the results available here.
If you're not interested in that, then you can do something else useful with your time ;)

PETERFR yes please, that way we can bury this debate once and for all.

Done but not realy happy about the results

    Hi kemper fam,

there is a discussion about whether MKII models sound different to MKI devices.
Here a thread about it to make this it transparent and comprehensible as possible.
According to Kemper, there should be no differences in sound between V1 profile on all units.
So testing the same we need:

    • a reference DI signal from here
    • a public kemper profile: 1971 Mars Golub Crch ( it is in the dropbox folder or available in RIG manager - factory content)

My units: Kemper Player (MK II unit), Kemper Stage MK I and Kemper Toaster MK I

To exclude analog elements first, I chose the Kemper player and stage with USB reamping to check whether sound is same on the digital level.
My kemper toaster MK I and KPA player are on latest firmware 13.0.5 where I couldn't hear any differences.
I rarely update the stage and it was on firmware 12.0.5.

And what: a difference in the bass range was immediately audible between the player and stage recording!
I couldn't find any different settings either.
So I put the newest firmware 13.0.5 on the stage and the recording is now identical with the player.

Tone Match – Blue: Kemper Stage MK1 Firmware 13.0.5 / Orange: Kemper Player 13.0.5 (identical with same firmware)

Tone Match – Blue: Kemper Stage MK1 Firmware 13.0.5 / Orange: Kemper Stage MK1 Firmware: 12.0 ( low end is different)

Maybe I have done something wrong but I can't find out what.
All audio files, KPA profile and screenshots / documetation for output settings are here in a DROPBOX folder:

    KPA-Test
    Shared with Dropbox
    www.dropbox.com

Maybe someone can confirm this or can tell me what I am doing wrong...

Kemper has clearly stated there is no tonal difference and nobody has provided any clips to demonstrate a difference. I'm sure you can understand why people would be uncertain what to conclude from that.

So with the current / version 1 profiles all units should sound the same. If this is not the case then something is different.
I have done latency tests and sound tests on my units and there is no difference
If somebody requests Audio samples I will do this but this thread is about mk2 profiling. Better we open another one for this?

Maybe it makes a difference if you are looking for a home studio solution or for gigging.
I think the most reliable and least time-consuming solution is a Kamper Stage.
If budget is a factor, maybe look for a used MK 1; they're a real bargain on the secondhand market.
I use also MIDI Captain 10 with PySwitch on my player and it works great.
But had also three times a freeze on the Midi Captain, after reboot it was working again.
At home no problem but I had one freeze during a gig. Not so funny.
Advantage on the stage is for me also the bigger display.
I wish MKII comes with even a bigger and colored one like the Morning star MC8 Pro.
Most Midi switches have no or like the Midi Captain a tiny one.
    HTH.

    Yes. Mk1 rack on 8.6.6. Mk2 rack on 13.0.

And before this gets heated (again). I don’t care that it’s ever so slightly different. In a couple of gigs i i will have gotten used to it. It might be software, it might be upgraded hardware (better ad/da converters), it might be something else. But all the settings were identical. I tripple checked. I am on hollidy in france, so i will not take (yet) a debate over this. Firstly because it’s a non-issue for me. Second because some posters simply seemed to get really upset that there was a difference between units ten years and 5 operating systems apart. Thirdly because with my job as a musician and guitar teacher, my wife deserves my attention while on holliday, moreso than grumpy kemper users, since we have busy everyday worklives.

Sorry, that wasn't meant as an attack!
As a software developer, I always think analytically and try to rule out where a difference could come from.
Theoretically, it's conceivable that it could be caused by the old and new firmware.
    Have a nice day!

That is not the case actually. One poster on here reported exactly what people are describing - noticably better quality and reduced latency from his new KPP compared to his other unit(s). This could reflect changes in the analog signal path and/or the converters.

So I asked this question myeself and now I compared my three units:

    1. Kemper Powered Head MK I (11 years old)
    2. Kemper Stage MK I (3 years old)
    3. Kemper Player (1 year old)

All three units have the same latency ~ 3,5 ms (Stage bit faster). On all 3 units I have the same profile loaded with 3 fx pre and 3 fx in post.
But when playing the guitar, it's all about feeling. If you have a good or even better feeling and an even better sound, then enjoy it, no matter where it comes from.

Three gigs and one rehearsal in, with the mk 2.

Very happy. Pick response is definately slightly different than my old mk 1 rack, but now i’ve gotten used to it, it feels great. Perhaps the better latency does play into it. Being exclusively in-ears i feel like i’m “closer to the pick” than before. It’s really hard to explain.

Got too many gigs atm to play around with the fixed fx, but i’m looking forward to it.

Realy wonder is there a difference?

Kemper stated there is no differnce in sound abd also lateny is the same. So how and why could it be different?
