I've been doing the same thing. I found once I have the cab/mic/preamp/position set up I don't move them too much for that particular amp.

Thanks for the kind words
I appreciate it.

Ha
sorry if it was obvious, in your previous posts you mentioned "the manual", and most users miss the fact that they can get the second one through d/l only
Yeah no worries... Actually, there should be 1 big manual that covers everything lol
Not sure why we have 2 + 3.0 Appendix for a total of 3. Like I said, the documentation leaves something to be desired.

Me to I just listened to the video of Helix vs HD500 and found the tones very unappealing
I thought they were ok. I'm sure it sounds better than the POD, but I bet it's not as good as the Kemper or Axe FX II
-
I watched all the demos I could find and the UI is great. Out of 15 minutes of video, there's about 45 seconds of actual audio. That makes me scratch my head.

Sometimes it's just very beneficial to have someone walk through it and demonstrate the stuff with commentary etc, even if it is all documented in the manual
After all, all the other videos are also stuff that is already in the manual.
Yeah exactly!
It's not that I can't figure out how to use a flanger or phaser etc..., but the parameters and parameter ranges are often not well documented. For example, I encountered this with the Green Scream. The controls don't quite work the same as the OD808. I think folks would really benefit from a walk-through.
Also, I don't think it's well addressed in the manual. Unless I'm missing something. If so, I'd greatly appreciate someone pointing me to the documentation that addresses the effects in a more in-depth way.

Wow! Excellent profiles! Sounds and feels like a real SL in the room! I was triggered to buy them by a comment here that these profiles sound very "Blackmore". And I can confirm! Try SL4. Can't stop playing. Thanks!
Awesome! I'm so happy you dig them!

Cool so we can merge them ourselves if need be
Yep,
All of my profiles are done that way. There's always a DI profile to go with the different Studio Profiles.
I always want people to get the necessary raw materials to make their own sound. That's why I keep it simple (single mic) and minimal effects from the KPA. It lets folks do more with the raw profile I think. That's how I'd want it... -
No no, the merging process works like this:
- Take a profile of a DI connected to the amp's speaker out (with speaker still connected)
- Take a "regular" studio profile OF THE SAME EXACT SETUP/amp settings, without changing anything. With these two profiles in the kemper, you can merge the two (as described in the manual). Basically, the kemper subtracts the DI profile from the studio profile to know where the dividing line between the two is. Then you store this new profile, which is a "merged profile". Voila
Oh, well that's exactly how I did it. The DI's are the same settings without the cab...
-
Eh? Then how did you make the DI profiles?
Well you need a power amp to make the impulse for the cab right? I have a Radial JDI for the DI profiles
-
Gotta say, Bernie, these are great!
BTW, are the non-DI profiles studio or merged?
Thanks man!
They're Studio Profiles. I have no way of doing Merged right now.
