Ouch...not at all what I expected. I thought the differences would be huge (obviously this is subjective), but as it turns out, real amps through the exact same cab+mic (let's not forget MIC, here) system, sound kinda.....the same, maybe I was too hard on the kemper then.

What do you need an Editor for, to do what?
There are many things in life that we don't actually NEED, yet their existence makes the completion of mundane "tasks" MUCH easier. Toilet paper (as opposed to newspapers or ,in fact, leaves) comes to mind.

Hi y'all
Noob question here, I just recently bought a focusrite scarlet 6i6. What I actually want to do (if at all possible) is to be able to control the spdif INPUT level I send to my DAW (qubase 5), solely through the mix control software (as opossed to through inside the Kemper) Well, what do you think, is this at all possible?
Thanks in advance guys.

I've done some testing and it seems that the more "bloated" the folder tree becomes, the more time it needs to render the addition/renaming or removal af a new folder. At some point it becomes plain IMPRACTICAL due to large waiting times. The strange thing is that this wasn't the case with previous versions of the software. If you want, I can send you my "local library" folder and see for yourselves.

You know what, I agree with sinmix 100%. The only "problem" i had with the profiler pre-fw2.8 was that different amps through the same CAB sounded almost the same (if they had comparable gain obviously). I was led to believe that with the release of the FW3.0 this problem would be solved. Well, from what merged profiles I've tried so far (sinmix, deadlight, thumas etc), the problem remains. The CAB part of a profile ALWAYS contributes A LOT more to the final sound than the AMP part.
I think the test to determine if its a general occurance or Kemper-specific, would be to record three REAL amps on the IDENTICAL real-cab and mic setup, and then compare the results to their three kemper direct amp profiles on the same (kemper) cab.
I have personally never done such a test (nor am I able to), but when plugging my evh 5150 and my mesa mark iv in the SAME cab (evh 2x12), their "in the room" sounds (ie no mics) are VERY different. With the profiler....not so much. So maybe the variable contributing the most could be the MICS? I dont't know...

I have the same problem now that I've updated to 1.3.1. When creating or renaming folders the programm becomes unresponsive for up to one minute. This CANT be how RM works, as I had NO such problem with the previous version. Must be a bug, I hope kemperteam is already on it.

Wow! These profiles are BEYOND awesome! As of now, this pack is the be-all-end-all markV collection. MILES ahead of the first pack and everything else i've tried before. Congratulations!

The code is working here, could you tell me what steps you did before entering the code plz so I can try to figure out what has happened, possible reasons it may not work are, If you copy and paste it, make sure you don't copy a space before or after the word because that will make the code not work. The code is not entered on my site, you need to enter it at your PayPal check out Its best to type it in manually to be sure. I've tested it and it works in chrome but haven't tried in IE. If anyone has trouble with the code not working just shoot me an email at sweetspotprofiles@gmail.com and ill sort out a 25% refund for you if it didn't work.
Chad, ill shoot you an email bro
Well, I enter the code (by typing it, as well as "copy/paste-ing" it) after pressing the "redeed" button next to the "PayPal gift card, certificate, reward, or other discount" on the "review your information" step on paypal's site. I keep getting the following comment "Please enter the correct redemption code. Codes are not case sensitive."

Strange, the coupon doesn' t seem to work...

Thanks again! And let me tell you (though I suspect you've read it hundreds of times by now) that your profiles are AMAZING! THanks for them too

Thanks for the info man! Maybe I should reconsider then, cause I SURELY don't want another dark pair.

But the 50 ware good when you need small monitors that go deep enough.Your writing imply that you've had experience with the alpha 50's too. So were they bright enough, or were they bass/ low-mid heavy too? Sorry if i'm being a little thick, it's 6.30 in the morning here, I've just woken up.

Great. Would love to hear what you think of them. I've been reading so much about studio monitors over the last week. I'm of the belief at this point that when it comes to near field monitors in the 5 to 8 inch driver range, it's hard to make a bad choice. I'm sure that if I demo'ed them all I'd have a preference but everything would change if I demo'ed them in my home. I'm sure if I bougth JBL LSR305s or Yamaha HS8s or the Focals, I'd be happy and they'd all sound great.
My room is 13x12 so according to what I'm reading, I should be fine with a 5" driver. Yet, you'll get tons of recommendations to go with an 8" driver because it's "better". Well those larger drivers also come with higher powered amps and that probably won't work in my room. I'm not worried about bass when it comes to playing the Kemper because I'm a guitarist. I played my 7 string through the Rokit5's all the time and never felt I was missing chunk or bottom. Now for mixing, I know it's a different story but I could add a sub-woofer for that.
There are tons of great deals on eBay and other online vendors. Have to admit the "buy one get the 2nd half off" deal on the Mackie MR models is really tempting. But the JBL LSR305s have SO MANY positive reviews. More so than the Yamaha HS line. Still the Yamahas are very popular here. I wonder if that's got anything to do with the fact that the DXR10s are also strongly in favor here?
The only thing I'm sure of is that I'll probably be mounting my monitors on stands instead of my desk. I like the idea of less weight on the desk and I've already moved my desk a bit to clear room for the stands.
Anyway, let me know what you think of the Focals. For a monitor with a 5" driver, it has a pretty big enclosure which I think helps extend the low end a bit and make the monitors sound "bigger".
Take care.
DaveWell, you have to take into consideration that BOTH the JBL's and the hs5s have the bass port REAR mounted, so if you (like me) are planning on placing them against the wall, they are a NO-GO

deadlight, Im' a bit confused. Are you refering to the 8s being dark and cloudy or the 5's too?

+ 1. Make EVERYTHING mouse controlled. Even the on/off switch .
Also, THIS :
+1
I love the KPA's relative simplicity on-stage, but I'm worried about the longevity of some of those most used knobs. Being able to do all the tinkering at home from a computer or tablet would reduce the wear on the hardware by 90% or more.

I'm close to buying a new set of monitors as I've just sold my KRK Rokit 5 G2s. Have heard good things about these but only on the Axe FX forum. Anyone here using them?
Thanks.
DaveBrother, I am EXACTLY in the same spot as you, I've sold my KRK's rp5 g2 (VERY bassy and muddy) yesterday and have my eyes set on the FOCAL Alpha 50's, due to a recomendation from a sound-guy I trust. Problem is there is SO LITTLE info on the web, but what little there is, seems to cast them in a positive light.
I will need them , not so much for JUST playing the kemper, but to create (at least) pre-production mixes for my band. I'm thinking about the 50s cause I will be working stricktly nearfiled with the monitors being withing arm's length. The guy who recommended them to me said that ,as a rule of thumb, the Alphas sound MORE massive than their diameter implies, so the 50's sound like 6 or 7 inches and so on. Could be nonsense though.
Anyway, I'm gonna check them out in person this week along with what other monitors the store has in its demo room. Hopefully, I'll come out owning them and will post my impressions here.

Total Amp / Cab separation!!! OH MY GOD, BRING IT!!!!
Until now I avoided "merged" profiles as I found that the cab factor played a bigger role than the amp, resulting in a "same-ish" sound between profiles using the exact same cabinet. I'm hoping this development is going to be a real game changer!

Oh crap, I was off by a couple of hours....well, maybe next time.

sounds like the filament in a light bulb rattling, really quietly
Yep, that is EXACTLY what it sounds like.
