All I know is that I cannot tell a difference between the Kemper and the reference amp in a mix. The Kemper is amazing.

Wow -- it sounds gorgeous! Can't thank you enough -- between this and the excellent PaulTS lead profile on the RE, my day is made.

Does anyone have any suggestions for achieving a clean volume swell type Allan Holdsworth sound (like in the track Shallow Sea from the IOU record)? All of my experience is in a high-gain context but I've recently been wanting to experiment with these sorts of tones.

To me it feels like the recent issue with profiles exhibiting more of a woofy low-end contributes to this feeling of similarity across amps that people are describing...

Gregor started this thread. What's more, his cabs comparison video directly relates to the topic he started when he began the thread.
-
If I'm not mistaken, he's trying to demonstrate that while the cab used makes a huge difference, it makes less of a difference with real amps than with Kemper profiles?
-
It seems like everything ends up with a woofy low-end on the new FW, or is it just my imagination?

Blind Guardian uses the Kemper on their new LP -- all the guitar tones sound exactly like they used to.

YES. That EP rules! I actually asked Eyal Levi (he did all the producing and mixing and reamping) and he told me he used profiles of a 5153. That being said I´m about 99% sure he used his own profiles for that since he´s from audiohammer and those guys are generally known for creating some of the best guitar tones in metal ever. Maybe @VESmedic1 @VESmedic can give us some further insight?
I can see that for the rhythm parts definitely, but the leads were seriously 5153? Amazing sounds, either way.

Anyone else loving the hell out of the new Cognizance EP? It's amazing stuff. I know they used the Kemper on some (all?) of it. Would be very curious to learn which profiles they were using!

For me Mesa with V30 its still No1! but... waiting for new cab from DL 2x12 with eminence v12 and Creamback 65
Stay Metal!
I was sceptical at first as I don't always enjoy the Mesa sound, but the Mesa 2x12 in SinMix's profiles has become my favorite cab of all time. It just works so well for EVERYTHING, whether it's on its own or in a mix, even when compared to other really nice custom 2x12 cabs.

Woops, I just meant what profiles do you tend to use with EMGs as opposed to with passives?
-
What do you guys tend to prefer with EMGs vs. passive pickups?
-
dont know where, but soon my profiles
Stay Metal!
Awwwhh hell yeah! I hope you do some lead profiles of it too.

I don't really like the rectifier sound, but James' profiles (Stymphalian Productions) of the dual rectifier are incredibly good. A must-have, really...

Let us hear some Infecting the Swarm tracks re-amped with it Does this mean you finally like something more than the Lasse Lammert profiles?
-
Yesss! Is it already underway?
-
I can't wait until Jaymz profiles another amp
-
The Lasse Lammert SLO is one of my favourite profiles for leads.

Gotta check those out! Gonna try the free VH4 profile and see how much I dig it! Thanks for the "try before buy" option!
I agree! I'd probably buy a lot more profiles if I could try them first.
