I have battled that explosion for about six months. At first I thought it was the EQ located directly after the stomp section. I noticed when I moved it to before the stack, or off, I got no explosion. However, I contacted OwnHammer regarding the use of their IR and maybe I was doing something wrong. Turns out I was. The files they have listed for the Kemper can be used directly, but they are at a 6 db increase than what the output can handle. So you have to run them through Cab Maker to get it right.
In short, double check your IR and make sure to run it through the Cab Maker before use.
Hope this helps.

Finally got a chance to snap a picture of the latest rig. Not all cabs are used at once. Just options for the different size venues we play.

Actually reduce the noise gate and see if that works. It was a better solution for me than increasing it. I finally went to an ISP Decimator Rack and couldn't be happier.

Adjust the global noise gate or any gate you have in use. This problem came about last year I believe and efforts were made to correct it. I found that the noise gate was the biggest source of the problem for me. Do a search on the forum just to make sure, as I know there is a thread fully discussing the issue.

That is true. Really not going for a stereo sound but a louder and fuller sound. Tried all the options available and this one sounded the best. We play heavy music and so usually the bigger and louder option is first choice. I believe if I was playing something lighter and with more nuances I would go for the stereo signal as it is clear and dynamic.

Look up the Andy Sneap interview regarding exactly this topic. He has done it with old tracks recorded from the 90's on amps he no longer owns. Sorry I do not have the link handy, but it is worth the watch.

Found this online and it looks like a perfect solution for quick and mobile recording. Plus the add-ons will be useful as well.
Anyone tried it yet?

Make sure you either do not have anything plugged into the Ethernet port or if you do it is the Kemper remote. I accidentally plugged my USB cable into once and the displayed flickered. Once corrected it stopped.

As always it is hard to reproduce most issues on a different setup. What I know is that that the Kemper has always worked perfectly until recently when a sudden explosive like boom would occur. This is on clean channel sounds when the F# on string 2 is played with a hard attack, I solved it by moving an EQ to the stomp section rather than the effect section and considerably lowering of clean sense.
During patch changes from a high gain rhythm preset to a lead patch the same boom would occur only when the first note was stuck. Never at any other time. Corrected this by keeping the EQ in the effect section but lowering the 80hz.
Recently, the change from a lead patch to a high gain rhythm patch started having the odd boom. It only occurred on he first struck note and not at anytime afterwards. I solved the issue, but not totally, by keeping the EQ in the stomp section and lowering the 80hz.
This is annoying at the very least, but something I am sure I can overcome. I do not post often on the forum as I become frustrated by many of the pedantic responses. I only update threads when I have discovered something note worthy.
The problem does exist and whether it is with the KPA or something else will eventually be discovered. Either by myself in a very timely manner, or probably around the same time we have an editor when Kemper discovers a solution.

I have had the same instance. For my clean sound I had to move the EQ to the stomp section. Also because I play a 7 string, I get an 80hz boom when switching patches and a hard attack. To compensate I have an EQ in the effects section that helps to stabilize the 80hz, but I still wonder if it is something in the KPA. Just using a work around for now. But will investigate more when time allows.

I understand the use of the morph function, but not really what I was wanting to use. I think if I adjust the settings on the WAH I could get it to function more in the way I would like. I use the CAE default as it is darker, so maybe just taking the peak range down and isolating the vowel frequencies I want would work best.

I am wondering about a setting for this type of Wah use.
I do not use my WAH in a traditional sense of creating that "Wah Wah" sound; I simply use it as a tone pot for my leads. Much like a cocked Wah, however I do not leave it one place. I never liked the idea of constantly turning a tone pot for different tones during a lead, so I choose to simply adjust my WAH pedal for what tone I like during that section. It follows for multiple tones during one lead.
This is the reason I liked the Cantrell WAH so much, because it pushed the darker side of a tone pot. I wonder what settings would look like for a the KPA WAH to function like a tone pot?
Granted a guitars tone pot goes darker in tone rather than brighter, but with it being used on a WAH pedal you could have s slightly bright range than a guitar tone pot, but not in the range of sizzling extreme sounds.
ANy thoughts would be appreciated.

Several times I have taken DI recordings of various pickups I found online and then matched the EQ in a DAW.
For example; Fluff has several DI tracks of Lundgren Pickups. So I took those, placed them in my DAW. and matched a graphic EQ to the sound graph. Then on the KPA I would place the Graphic EQ in Stomp A with the adjusted settings. Now, certainly this is not a perfect solution, but it did give me a starting point to modify my sound. Keep in mind this does not equate for the EQ adjustments needed to modify your personal pickup sounds. But with having a matched EQ of those pickups you can get closer.
Its worth a try and I use it rarely, but when I am trying to match a certain pickup thats were I start.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I always wish to buy profiles that provide what you hear. So its good to know that you do include those effect settings as well.

These all sound fantastic. My only question is whether the profiles come as raw tones or did you include the stomps/effects used in the videos?
