Why does the title start with "Free Sampler Pack" when there isn't one anymore?

no that port isn't user-serviceable.. you'd have to send it in for repair.
Before you go down that path, maybe you can try to connect it to a completely different router? preferably with a completely different ethernet cable. Just to rule out those 2 factors (cable / router)
I already tried the cable and the laptop connected fine through both cables, so those are fine. The router is provided by the internet provider, so I do not have another to try.
Thanks.

If your laptop worked and was assigned a proper ID on the network, you might have a bad network port on the Kemper
Does the port on the router light up when you connect your Kemper? When I plug in the cable to the Kemper network port, both the lower right green and lower left yellow lights flash (on the Kemper network port).
On the router port, it's light flashes in time with the Kemper.

Your dhcp config on router looks fine.
The kemper showing a 169 address means it’s actually not being handed an IP address. 169 is a dummy address, all devices do this when they can’t obtain a proper address from dhcp server.
Have you got a laptop you can plug directly into the router via Ethernet? Physically Turn off the wifi on laptop so you’re only seeing the LAN connection. Then check laptop to see if it’s getting an address. This will just rule out and prove that the LAN DHCP is working as it should and thereby suggest an issue at the kemper side.
Thanks for the great suggestion.
I made sure the WiFi on the laptop was off and connected it directly to the router and it connected to the internet just fine. As soon as I disconnected the working laptop, I connected my Kemper to the same cable directly into the router and it says 0.0.0.0
I only seem to be getting an address starting with 169 when I run through a long run of Cat 5 cable through the wiring in the walls, so I will not connect it that way anymore. But, a short cable directly into the router always says 0.0.0.0 in the Details menu.
So, I need to figure out why it is saying 0.0.0.0 and how to get a valid IP Address.

Remote help is always tough…
i think there are two more easy options, you can try:- reset the Profiler to factory settings and go from there. (But of course do a full backup so you can go back!)
- try a different router (maybe you have got an old model somewhere?). But that’s not a permanent solution of course…
I only have the one router, but I can try resetting the profiler to the factory settings.
I'll wait a bit to see if others chime in with additional suggestions.
Thanks!

I looked at the user manual for the ARRIS NVG448BQ. The DHCP on/off seems to apply to both wired and wireless connections.
I really appreciate the help. I'm feeling pretty daft at this point.

Have you tried any other device with the same cable, so that you can be sure, that the port is working properly?
Maybe it's as simple as that.
Yes, first thing I tried. Plugged into a line going to a second computer.
Plus, plugged the Kemper directly into router.
Rescanned for devices in my network setup menu, etc...
Thanks.

It sounds like the Profiler is not getting an IP address from the router. See IP address that starts with 169 to understand how I came to that thought.
I'm assuming the Profiler and the iPad have to be on the same subnet. This can only happen if the router is configured to make this happen.
On the router:
- Do you have DHCP enabled?
- If not, the router can't give the Profiler an IP address that's on the same subnet as the iPad.
- Do you have a limit on the number of connections (a small range of DHCP addresses available)?
- If you do, there may not be a free IP address to assign to the Profiler.

Yes, DHCP is my default.
I am not aware of any limits on the number of connections/available addresses for my router. I will try to research that (thanks for the suggestion) I had not thought about that, as it has never been an issue with any other connections. But, maybe I have reached the limit. I will look into it.
Rebooted the router first thing.
Thanks for the questions, answers and links.
Any help is always appreciated. You never know what you don't know.

what's the IP address it shows? which router/switch/modem do you use?
The IP address starts with 169. I don’t want to give out the entire address on a public forum. I have tried connecting directly to my main Arris NVG468MQ router. I have tried connecting from the Arris through a D-Link DES-1108 which expands the network for everything else with no problems. So, with and without the D-Link in the path. Thanks for your input. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I am going to state the obvious but are you sure you are on the correct wi-fi network on your iPad?
No problem, sometimes we overlook the obvious.
Yes, on the correct wi-if network and also confirmed with tech support.
The frustration I am having is, I had a lengthy discussion with tech support. I sent them screen shots. They agreed everything appeared to be set up correctly and it should communicate, but it is not. I control Pro Tools remotely, my robotic microphone, cameras, etc… All those work just fine using an iPad app on the same network. On my first generation Kemper toaster under details it shows an IP address (connected through a Cat 5 cable). But, the Rig manager app can’t find my Kemper. It just searches and searches.
I decided to try here, hoping somebody might have had a similar issue and found a solution.
