Record riff and pan left
Record riff and pan rightThis is what i always do. I've never had good luck with quad tracking. I'm a bassist by nature and quad tracking always made it a bit harder for me to get my bass to cut through the mix.
It probably helps that i usually use 2-3 tracks of bass though. I always have felt to have a good guitar tone...add a killer bass tone and it will sound massive. That being said i always use the same tone for the left/right tracks, send them to a stereo bus and then apply EQ/Saturation/etc.

Use the Kemper's DI out for this, mate. Easy, peasy.
Nice!
Will do! Sold some more equipment the other day...I'm that much closer to buying a Kemper -
It is possible but it uses up one of you right stereo channels to do so. Better to route through your audio interface to do this instead so you can use the Kemper in stereo.
Cool!
I usually record in mono and double it with another track, but there are times i record stereo tracks as well.
I mainly was just thinking for reamping or when i track bass i like to record an unaffected track of bass as well. -
Just curious...
Can Kemper have an profile sound out and also a dry signal at the same time?
Just curious for recording purposes. -

So i finaly got to hear the Kemper through my powered DRX10 last night! I AM SOLD!!! I didn't record anything because we were having too much fun just playing! I'm now on the hunt for a non-powered rack version/ a remote.
Some of my fav profiles we used were:
Lasse Lammert: EVH 5153 ChugChug and EVH 5153 Shot-Gun-Blast and LL - Hard Hitter-JOTUN
Morgan AC20
FRAENGGERS: 5153CAdding delay and reverb to these really made for some great lead sounds.
I thought it was really cool that you can copy and paste entire effects from other profiles to new profiles.
I didn't get to really experiment too much with all the effects in the unit, but I'm looking forward to doing that when i get one for myself. -
I have a DRX10 powered PA speaker and i am also going to run it through my studio monitors which are JBL LSR308s.

I have a friend that is bringing his Kemper over tonight and i'm SUPER EXCITED to try it out as i am currently saving for one. I'm hoping to use it for recording, church and for playing out live.
I'm going to try to hopefully record something with it tonight if i have time. I'm hoping to try to record the rhythm guitars (done with my Axe Fx II) for this track(rough mix): https://www.dropbox.com/s/51ppft0s44p3…ea%201.mp3?dl=0
Can anyone suggest any free 5150 or 5153 profiles that would fit the bill for this track?
Again, i can't wait to test it out and i'll report back tonight.

Congrats!!!
I'm still saving for one. I've got some gear to unload to help fund it though. Just got to sell stuff i'm not using. -
Awesome! Good to know! I was originally wanting a powered Kemper, but this one was purchased less than a year ago and a really good price.
I use a powered monitor with my Axe Fx and i'll just have do the same with the Kemper i get. -
Hi there,
I know someone selling a rack mounted non-powered Kemper. They said it is in great condition except for a ground button on the backside of the unit. They said it fell off. Can this be fix easily? Should this issue persuade me to look elsewhere?Just thought i would ask here.
Thanks everyone.

Welcome...as you'd expect, we approve of your decision :).
Let us know when you get it!
Will do.
I have a feeling it may take awhile to save for one though.
I'm selling a few guitars and other music gear i have to get one.I did get to demo a Kemper at a local music store, but it was running through a Marshall cab.
My buddy is going to bring his over eventually as i really want to hear the direct tone of the Kemper. It a great time to be alive with gear like the Kemper around!!!!

Nice! Thank you!

Yeah, you can use IRs. You need to download the Cab Maker to convert them into .kpir files first though.
Great! Thank you!!!

Hi everyone,
I'm a total noob with the Kemper. I don't own one yet, but I'm thinking of saving to buy one. As of now i have an Axe Fx II XL.I have a question about cabinets. I read that you can change the cab of a profile to a different cab.
Does the Kemper utilize IR files at all? I have quite a few i use with my Axe Fx. I was just wondering if these could be used with the Kemper in any way or not? Is there a certain format that the Kemper uses for commercial IR files?
Many thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
Happy to be on the forum! I don't own a Kemper...yet, but i'm in the process of saving for one.
I currently have an Axe FX II XL, but i'm interested in getting a Kemper when i can save the money for one.
