Is the Master light going red? The output signal might be the problem, as I noticed this with Amplitube and Guitarrig as well.

An inverse function of a clipped sound (speaker break-up) seems impossible to me. But then again, I'm no expert.

I'm on 1.07 and it's still there.. So I'd go with your assumption that the client is going crazy

I think:
A: Kemper
B: AFD while profiling (it sounds a bit more complex than A)
C: AFD live -
Neighbours complaining about aliens?
Anyways, thanks a lot for sharing this profile!! I love Two Rock amps. Can't wait to try this.
Perhaps this image can help you find a great mic position:

you can see the cones through the speaker cloth. Might wanna try putting the mic right around there. Also, these settings seem to work nicely for a fellow called John Mayer (around 1:50):

I'm far from being an expert here, but I believe that:
FRFR = full range full response - a flat power amplifier to simply reproduce what the KPA produces without coloration
pre EQ is when using it in the Stomp section, before the preamp
post EQ is when using in the Effects section, after the preamp
Gurus, please chime in ...
That pretty much sums it up. Let me add this:
pre-EQ is used to shape the signal that enters the gain stages, therefore shaping how the distortion sounds. For instance, you can lower the bass to have a clearer bass in your sound. And on the other hand, if you like your amp's break-up in the highs you can accentuate those.
post-EQ is used to shape the frequencies and achieve your desired sound post-distortion that the PA will receive. So here you will listen whether you miss the warm bass or perhaps dial down some harsh highs. -
So you are saying that these 3 profiles sound the same with the stock gain setting?

I'm doing 8 amps this weekend with 5 different mics. That's a lot of screwing around while refining. Maybe I should have just hired a studio!Yup that's going to be quite an undertaking. But you could look at the bright side; if you have finished profiling them correctly you will never have to crank them at home again

As I said in my first post...
At the moment the workflow for those of us monitoring in the same room as the reference amp is needlessly awkward and the fix is trivially simple to implement.I don't know why you are being so stubborn on this issue - are you saying the product is only intended for people with an isolation cab or a soundproof studio? That rules out a very large enthusiast market.
It has nothing to do with being stubborn, the product is developed to provide a PROPER A/B comparison and that is exactly what professionals want. And like I said, if you want to noodle around with the profile just partially unplug the jack for a while. It's not so hard honestly

I would definitely NOT suggest muting the reference amp when you listen to the Kemper profile. The purpose of A/B'ing is to get an accurate profile, and muting your amp would pretty much kill that.
If you really, really don't want to hear the amp, you could try unplugging part of the jack that's in the "send" output (saves you a trip to the amp ). I don't think there is an option in the KPA for it (muting the ref amp).
-
Wow, glad I didn't try it then! (downloaded them a while ago but haven't used the Kemper for a while)
-
Wow. I haven't even tried the Drive profile, because the Clean is just so good! THAT is how a Plexi is supposed to sound in my eyes (umm, ears). Thank you!!

Nice clip and great sound, sounds like a real tube amp to me
Thanks for sharing!

That last pic, awesome!
Can't wait for these profiles. Didn't realize the Hiwatt was from AXE FX (haven't tried it), would be nice if people stated that in the profile description/name. The real amp profiles are in a different league than the AXE ones, it's amazing.
Ok, one request: could you try to get a Townshend profile done with his Les Paul sound dialed in? That would be great.
-
Yes, that 'muddled' sound as you describe it, is the main reason I really don't like the Budda amps a lot (while most of the people seem to adore them). I did notice it on quite a few other profiles with my Les Paul, but increasing the amp's clarity helps quite a bit. Try it!

Quite strangely, I profiled a 4x12 yesterday that was on the edge of clipping the Kemper (got the error then turned the volume down slightly). Yet the resulting cab was much quieter than the stock cabs or Tills! How does the Kemper assign the cab volume?
-
Especially having to dial all the way to the newest profiles on start-up is a drag.. So +1

There is a Hiwatt on the exchange already. But of course, more profiles can't hurt.
