Here's someones thoughts on this that I just stumbled upon
http://foppstar.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html?m=1
Who is the mister? -
This is always my problem. The low end never matches up. I've grown frustrated trying.

Hi, I am evaluating whether to order KPA and a couple concerns from researching:
1) Review from Musicians friend - (didnt confirm the reviewer actually ordered KPA):"I wanted to love the KPA. I bought in to the hype and picked one up. For the most part I will say that the KPA sounded like a very good analog emulation but it suffered in the low midrange - especially on clean tones when pushed hard. The 650hz +\- range just got too fuzzy. It never sounded "bad" but, to me, an essential frequency range just kind of disappeared"
Is this a weakness of the KPA? Or just that guy opinion?
I have to say I somewhat agree. There's something unnatural in the low mids and specially the bass. The highs always seem to match pretty well but the lower freqs just always sound off.

If you check in the forum you'll see reports (only a few) of this issue since the very first FW release.
Edit: I stand corrected, 7. going by memory: yourself, Michael, Mats, Ibarrington, Deltafit, MattyB and Dany
Add me to that list. I guess I'm unlucky. I've had a lot of problems including blown LED's and red-screen-of-death. I don't trust the unit for live use.
-
I have had both white and black and had LED's blown in each. I'm on my third black one now. First two fail.
-
Still here aliasing noise.
-
I hear it plain as day with or without cabs on.
-
My 2nd unit did that so that one went back too. On the third one now and no major problems yet except some for the weird bass response and pick attack stuff but i think that is not specific to my kpa.
-
I too find that the KPA often times does not reproduce pinch harmonics as well as the real amp or even other modelers.
-
Most of the profiles suck, especially the included ones. Finding good ones is definitely a chore but they're out there.
-
On my third one now. Can't seem to get more than a couple weeks out of them before they die.
-
If you say so, i must be wrong. You probably are wrong.
-
Same thing just happened to me. Had to leave it unplugged for about 30 minutes before it would turn on.
-
A frequency graph is more than adequate. If you put in a single
frequency and you get out any frequencies that aren't multiples of that
frequency, or especially frequencies below that frequency, then you are aliasing.
From those graphs, it appears that the unit is aliasing heavily. -
When i turn power on it says something like "Updating analog board software" and just stays there.
Is there a sequence to resurrect it?
-
Sounds virtually identical. Can you describe exactly how you did this? I just got Ozone but I'm confused on how to do this.
