Finally got round to get the ball rolling on album number 2!
Machina is the second song for my new album, coming early next year, called Transcendence (the first one was Roland's Last Stand, which is now finished as well). Mix is evidently far from final, but I thought I'd share the song anyway. The inspiration for this was actually East European cartoons from the late 70's I remember watching as kid, a couple of which had this dark and machinery like texture to them.
Guitars used on the track are my Jaden Rose Spider #3 and my Blackat Leon 8 proto, and the bass that so kindly gave me the workout of a lifetime is my cheapish 7-string HK, tuned F# to C, low to high. All the guitars are recorded through the Kemper into a Presonus 22SVL interface, whereas the bass was recorded direct and then processed via plugins, the ghetto way.

I concur with the above - a rating system is as useful as how well it pinpoints the target audience of these profiles, and said categories would actually help those less familiar with the profiled amps to navigate the portal adequately when searching for whatever it is they're after, not to mention the ridiculous range of tones certain amps have on a per-channel basis.

As I'll be doing a few demos with my friend Ola Englund in Guitar Candy (Belgium) on the 14th and 15th, it was time to give some of my old backing tracks a much needed overhaul. Since the first video of Atonement was lacking in a few departments, I just thought it was worth recording the rest of it and giving my black limba fanned fret 8 some well deserved camera time in the process.
All tracks are done with the Kemper Profiling Amp AKA the Cosmic Lunchbox, using a SND Redemptionist distortion for the melody lines. Patches used for the rhythm tracks are a modified version of Ola's Triple 6 profile into a profile of my own Zilla 2x12", and another of the AMT Electronics D2 into the same cab profile. Melodies are done with the Redemptionist driving a Vox AC30 profile and the lead line was done with a profile of my own Silverblade Hellhound 20 into the Zilla again.

That's ridiculous, I can't believe that.
What Mr. Kemper told me is that, unless you are comfortable with dismantling the unit and retrofitting the power amp unit, it is indeed necessary. This is not a module of sorts, but a power amp instead that corresponds to another version of the Profiling Amp which contains a power section that MAY be used with the current KPA, unless the unit is to replace current KPA's permanently.

- Modified Ola Englund Triple 6 patch for rhythms
- Silverblade Bloodhound 20 through my own Zilla
- Modded to hell and back RainheartAs for the mixing, it was left quite basic, as I've tweaked my tones to have as little frequency overlapping as possible. Thanks for the support, mate!

Honestly, I don't think it takes that much to get used to an 8-string guitar - it's just adding a couple strings to the bottom end, and you stop playing them by mistake in no time if you just spend a little time adjusting to the new visual reference. As far as neck width itself is concerned, it's not an issue - it will require a nice left hand posture and you may notice you are pickier with the neck profile than you were before, but that is about it, really.

It's a shame I didn't get my hands on these.
The ethics discussion is, in my eyes, uncalled for in EVERY way, and more often than not ends up being a result of people feeling the Sacred Cow is getting trivialized by a cheaper unit, which it is not. You still require the Axe II's algorithms to create the patch you are about to profile, and there's no way in hell our beloved cosmic toaster can do that.
Should Ola delete the DV Mark Triple profile? Or should we empty our Kempers from their profiles? These are actual mic'd up amp sounds, so the tone "belongs" to the maker, by this logic. Should we wipe the memory of the Axe II clean as it's digitally cheapening the hard work of the amp developers, especially considering how well Keith tends to nail tone stack interaction and power amp dynamics? Logically speaking, this makes zero sense to me.
This is NOT about stealing the algorithms from Cliff at Fractal (and THAT would be ethically incorrect), and I find it a shame that the subject was even approached as if that was the case. Such as it is, I urge the OP the consider making them available again.

I used a modified version of Ola's DV Mark patch, which has to be the most ridiculously versatile metal rhythm patch ever - easy to tweak to do whatever you want, in the distorted rhythm.
Taps and the more ethereal melody types are all my Nebula patch, which I did from a default RainHeart rig, lead melodies are done with a lead patch from my Silverblade tones (still tweaking these, hence the absence from the shared patches area), and the main lead is a rig I did from one of the default Roadking rigs, as it's quite close to the EQ I'd use on the amp itself.
