I think it's a great idea if you just want jam on backtrack without turn on your PC or simply because you haven't you PC with you (travel etc...). You just need headphones and an usb key.

Thanks to BRUNO, I reported this to support and here is the specs for outputs :
Analog Outputs
Master L and R Outputs: XLR balanced, ¼ inch TS unbalanced with ground lift
max output level: XLR +22dBu, TS +16dBu
Monitor Output: ¼ inch TS unbalanced with ground lift
max output level: +16dBu
Direct Output/Send: ¼ inch TS unbalanced with ground lift
max output level: +16dBu
Output Dynamic Range: >108 dB
Dedicated Headphone Output: ¼ inch TRS stereo, 33Ohm
There's an error in the KPA Manual Basics and Profiling where it's written that both XLR and jack are balanced.

Sad to read this.
Bought my KPA from Thomann. The 1st KPA had a bad responding knob. Thomann changed the KPA without any charge. The DSP died few months later and Thomann repaired my KPA without any charge again (no charge for shipping etc... it cost me 0 €). It's what your dealer has to do.

Chris, here's the link to Namba Bag : http://www.thomann.de/gb/kemper_bag_…g_amplifier.htm

A DSP error is usually a software error and not a hardware error
Did you try all the resetting? But whatever: Call them. My emails are often ignored too - but when I gave them a call everything has been worked out.
Not in this case. I exchanged emails with Kemper support, following advices : tried resets, deleted rigs etc... but unfortunatly, always had the DSP Error tab so we reached the conclusion that the DSP board was faulty (and someone on the forum had the same problem and needed to send back his KPA).
I'll try to call Thomann.

Hi,
I got a DSP Error on my KPA about 2 or 3 weeks ago and sent it back to Thomann (Kemper Support said the DSP was faulty). They received the KPA june the 11th. I asked Thomann when they think they'll send me my fixed KPA but no answer.
If it happened to you, how much time it took to have your KPA back to you ? I have a gig june the 30th so I would like to know if I can expect have it before this date.
Thanks.

Well, according to the support, it seems that the DSP is faulty
. I'm waiting for Thomann's answer to send back the KPA.
-
Dlaut, did you have a DSP Error tab under the 2nd button (between TYPE and BROWSE knob) ?
-
I got a rehearsal today, the first with KPA. I played bass guitar with it and the first time I turned on the KPA, I got the DSP Error tab
. I turned it off and on again and the DSP Error tab has gone. It's too randomly to be confident with my KPA, I'll send a message to the support.
BTW, its sounds good. I used one of the Markbass profile than can be found in the rig exchange.

Yes, I could fix this by putting FW 1.08 again (I edited my last post) but as I did nothing special and had this DSP Error, I'm not totally confident for the moment. Thanks for the support
.

Damned, Chuck Norris has been kicked out by FW 1.06, CK is the best
.

I did this :
http://kemper-amps.com/forum/index.ph…35807#post35807
But when I rebooted my KPA this morning, I got the error again.
I did your advise but same thing.
I did : http://kemper-amps.com/forum/index.ph…d&threadID=5050
And now, nothing works
.
I got "Initialised Rig" by Chuck Norris (
) for only rig. I restored default rigs but always have this DSP ERROR.
I start to be desperate.
EDIT : after put the 1.08 again, it seems ok.
-
Well, after 3 reboots, with or without SYSTEM button held, back to 1.06 FW and back again to 1.0.8, I have the DSP error tab disappeared and all work. The funny thing is that the button above the DSP error (the 2nd between TYPE and BROWSE knobs) lits if I plugged a cable in INPUT and lits off if I unplugged the cable
.

I just got this error. Could you fix it ?
-
I have now a DSP Error tab displayed and nothing work just by turning on my KPA. No sound, and button don't do anything
.
-
When I did tests in february, changing cables helped but now, I use a cable that didn't work in february and it works well now
.
-
It's the other magic part of the KPA
. I have last FW installed.

Hi,
I made this post rather than answer to the thread of MisterC cause it's a bit different.
It was about a week or 2 that I didn't use my KPA. I turn in on this morning and no of any outputs worked (headphones too). I rebooted KPA 2 times with, the 2nd time all cables unplugged excepted input and, that worked excepted the Direct Output.
I exchanged some emails with Davide at a time about a problem with the Direct Output and he advised me to insert a loop Mono in a the slot A.
I tried it and I got the Direct output back. I have a to put the mix of the loop at 0% if I didn't want to have a SHHHH.
I just turn off the loop by pressing the A button, got a big clip (
) in my monitoring and... direct output was back, clearer than with the loop mono ON. I browsed throught presets, so, the loop mono isn't there anymore and direct output works now as i should be.
Really strange
.

I also have this when changing profiles.

Hi,
do you think (Kemper) that it would be possible to plug a WIFI USB key instead of the classic USB key to make the transfert of profiles... So we can let this kind of key http://www.hercules.com/thumb/?q=95&w=…=jpeg&bg=FFFFFF plugged permanently and make transfert without plug/unplug the classic USB key.
I think a software needed so you can tell your PC/MAC to send profiles to Kemper or something like this.
