As long as you don't need an effects loop and an expression pedal, I'd say yes probably.
If you need to add a dedicated expression pedal to the Player and upgrade to level 3, I guess it makes sense money wise to start to look at the Stage.
IMHO, the big selling point for the Player is the form factor, which is really a big plus if you want to integrate it to a pedalboard and use other pedals.
The five slots thing is really three out of the box accessible directly via a dedicated footswitch, but add morph to that and it becomes six.

FYI, concerns the beta :
The conversion of IRs to 2.0 is working when double clicking an impulse response.
But, when dragging one to the cab section it doesn’t and the frequency response is grayed out. -
In this case I can only rely on my personal experience but I’ve pushed the Player with tons of gain, using analog pedals and Kemper’s distortion options.
Honestly, as long the Kemper’s input is not clipped it seems pretty hard to clip within the unit itself.As for the output level, just lowering a few db and letting my power amp do his job, like recommended in the manual, do the trick pretty well…
From what MM described, it seems to me that the clipping occurs at the power amp’s input stage.

MetalMauce if you use the Amped only as a power amp, you might want to consider swapping it with something like the HB GPA-100 which has an input LED, isn’t very sensitive to clipping IMHE, and is quite affordable while doing a great job amplifying a cab 😉

I use a Player, a Windows 11 laptop, Reaper and an Apollo interface.
I dont hear or feel any difference. Nor when monitoring via headphones or with Kone loaded cab…I simply don’t use the UAD preamp and manage the levels via the Kemper.
Also, latency is unnoticeable, to me at least.
You might want to make sure the interface preamp is not altering the signal 🤷♂️ -
I’ll try to help based on the surface level of details you gave.
I suppose you don’t have an input visual cue on your power amp, like a LED ?In the output, you have a monitor out setting. Have you tried lowering the output level by a few db ?
Have you “crafted” your rig at the same volume you use for rehearsals? Depending on the volume, frequencies are perceived quite differently.

FWIW I’ve not experienced any problem with any of the versions except for some rigs sounding slightly different. Nothing that couldn’t be fixed with two minutes of tweaking.
From what I’ve read here, the major complaint is the ASIO not working properly on windows 11 and thus USB recording not a possibility. But even that is working on my Windows laptop. -
Out of curiosity regarding their V2 models, I’ve bought a Tonex one unit.
I still don’t like the V1 models but their V2 models of Engl and Mesa amps are quite impressive and feel nice to play.
Will try a V2 amp going into the Kemper (2.0 cab), to see how they compare. -
Or you run the Kemper out into the audio Interface (If it has enough ins).

For the record, my Player is on the latest update, my laptop’s on Windows 11 latest update and the Player is working standalone in Reaper.
I don’t think it’s an easy one to make it work for everyone, drivers and Windows compatibility is supposedly a PITA… -
I'm not implying you should be happy about it, just outlining the fact that it's not the primary function of the unit, not the devs first concern and users complaints shows for it.
I personally have an Apollo interface and use it with headphones all time, nothing bad to say about it.

Playing the devil’s advocate here but, why rely on the Kemper to record and be the audio interface ?
Any good audio interface will solve the Asio thing issue that some encounter with the Kemper…

It appears that sometimes (when importing new rigs ?) Rig Manager labels all amps and cabs as "classic", however restarting RM seems to fix the issue.

Guitar amp plugins are inferior to Kemper Profiles. So, basically a waste of time.

Hey !
I tried several times to profile a NDSP plugin (one of those should be on the RE) without great success. A challenge is getting the proper levels but even nailing them, doesn't seems to make it work.
The Kemper team stated that we can't expect great results when trying to profile a plugin, the profiler being designed to profile (tube) amps.
