I think a lot of people feel Kemper has made a few cash grabs with the Player since it's release. Is that true? I don't know - they've always been a great company, but maybe things have changed.
What I do know is that I paid $149 for the Level II upgrade to get Morphing and now that feature is suddenly free. No, they didn't give you everything from Level II for free - but I'd be willing to bet that most people went to Level II purely for the Morphing ability. So for me, I wasted $149 on an upgrade. Hurts more when I need a small loan to buy groceries and get gas in the car.
To be honest, I was going to upgrade to Level III for the 8 blocks. But I probably won't because who knows, maybe it'll be free in a month.
It feels a lot like when you are a long-time customer and you just paid full price for your phone only to see your carrier giving them away to new customers the next month. In an economy that seems to be headed for recession and costs for daily living are high, it's puts things like this under a microscope. But thats always the way (to use the mobile phone analogy) i expect that in the life of my current contract for my provider to offer incentives to get new customers, upgrade customers etc its never a static thing, in any platform it changes - i upgraded for the extra blocks thats all but i expect that will be offered in some shape (perhaps) to say Level 2 - its just the way of things, like paying £2000 for a guitar that get put into a sale a month later - for me the bottom line with kemper is the sustained quality, good service, good gear that gets me the tone i want in the simplest and quickest time. I'm not wealthy i'm just a musician that actually happy to have jumped from line6/boss to kemper

whats all the fuss for?
i paid for level3 because i needed it, so what if some features are then given away free, its still been worth it, still the "go to" for me.
so much negativity

Hi - happy new year.
If i press switch 1/2/3 on the Kemper player does it output a MIDI signal?
If so what is it? (had a quick look but for the life of me i cant find anything)
thanks

Hi, quick question - does the USB port on an iPad Pro work with rig manager on profile player over USB?
-
Go into the system section. At the very top - Assign Footswitch options. I've assigned 1-2 combo to looper rec and play, and 2-3 combo to stop (hold for delete). Set this way you hold buttons 1-2 down for as long as you need to record. Dont know the max length yet.
OMG thats class

Oh interesting. I hadn't even noticed that in the menu. I was just saying that there is a looper function in the upgrade. Very rudimentary but useable. Not I'm curious about the fx loop in the fx blocks and how to wire it up. (If actually functional). Maybe they are able to repurpose the 2 stereo output jacks?
I just don't see the looper - LOL hmmmm where do you see it?
-
its less than the cost of a decent standalone FX and gives you way more versatility IMO
the 8 blocks are a game changer and the extra FX are just sweet

There is an option to use Loop on the player menu - thought it was a looper
lol
Obviously the software say’s it can’t be used on a player (has no fx loop)
Love it so far -
Ordered.
Paid.
Waiting for activation code.
Why is it not instant?
It was for me
-
so i bought the upgrade and i cant find the install .. help
- Start Rig Manager and wait until your profiler appears in the top left of the tree view
- In Rig Manager, open the PROFILER > Install Feature Upgrade menu item
- If the license code has not been transferred automatically, enter it manually in the 5 input fields of the dialog
- To start the upgrade, also click “Upgrade now” -
I'd love a PC/MAC version of the kemper, like Line 6 has for the Helix range.
ta - awesome work anyway
-
So you would recommend this then?
-
Why a customs cost? It’s not a purchase/sale is it?
Should just be shipping

For me, the user sfa_100 does want something different.
I think he wants a concrete dealy combined with a reverb but within one block.
So you safe a block for a different effect.absolutely right - i don't want to use another pedal and "pollute" the Kemper LOL - and ideal would be something like the BOSS RE2 but done in the Kemper way
-
These type of fx's are not available in the kemper. I also think that this would be a great addition to the player and the bigger brothers.
probably been done before but I've just requested as a feature request

Hi, I'd love to have the ability to use just 1 block for delay and reverb kind of like
the UA Del-Verb or the BOSS RE2 and yes i'd pay for them as well

Hi, anyone know of a way to get reverb and delay on one block of the KPP - had a look and I don’t believe there is a delay/reverb FX.
Would love this to be a single FX

I’m currently using an Ampero midi controller- it’s fine and does as it says, I have the kemper switches turning on various FX as and when I need, the Ampero 1 to 3 buttons/switches select the rig I want and the 4th button/switch is my boost, I use the master out for the boost, not the rig level, I have the Ampero send one set of CC (nrpn pairs) to boost and then the next press takes it back to it’s normal volume - works well but it’s limited- currently building a midi controller to do exactly as I need but like most things it takes time
