Can't seem to duplicate a Rig

  • Generally, these store buttons depend on the situation.

"Replace" is greyed out until you edit the Rig. Why would one want to replace a Rig with an identical copy? As soon as you edit any parameter within the Rig e.g. Gain "Replace" gets available and an additional button "Store as New" appears. "Duplicate" doesn't exist anymore - the current wording is "Store as New".

If you load a Rig in a domain that you do not own (Rig Exchange or Rig Packs) or cannot change (mounted backups), there is no "Replace". Such objects can only be stored in different domains e.g. your Local Library.

Ok and there was my confusion. I did not realize "Duplicate" had been deprecated. I generally used that one as part of my process to make a Direct Profile copy to receive a new cab. "Store As New" does not look to generally be available either until you change it, which is fine, but like you said it's a different process that I hadn't caught on to yet. All good now.

I think a lot of people might miss these things because we're thinking about mic positions and trim levels and where is my good cable and then it's "why is RM giving me a hassle today"?
