Update MKII

Looking forward. It took me two years to get a great tone I like. Currently tried it for a couple of hours and wasn’t convinced at alll though happy with the faster boot up with my Player compared to my already sold MK I.
But as you mentioned. Some things take it’s time.

And there might be already planned features for the more powerfull MK IIs.

If I hadn;t been changing from Rack to stage, I would have not upgraded to a MKII yet.

Your statements are less than helpful:

1) "I expected more" - what led you to that expectation? If you bought it blind without finding out what it could or couldn;t do then thats on you.

2) "They are working on a new machine" - says who? That rumour has been around the day after the MK1 was released. In any case, any manufacturer will be looking at the future unit, so even if Kemper released something entirely new tomorrow, that is no different to any company. We have had the luxury of the MkI still being "current" for 11 years. Im unclear how any company introduces a new product without some who bought the old product the day before feeling miffed...

A lesson in upgrading:

I have a computer I built that is 10 years old now and has Windows 10 OS. It cost me $1300 back then.

I can upgrade to a new computer that will have Windows 11 OS and be a little faster in processing speed and memory. It would also come with the new USB 3.1. It will cost me $2300.

I will be using the same programs on the new computer as I have on the old one. I will be getting just a few more features by having Windows 11.

Question: Is $2300 worth spending for that upgrade for just a little more speed and a few new features?

Answer: My wife says no.

Solution: Get yourself a wife and you won't be disappointed about upgrades.

Give us an example of how the new profiling is lacking compared to the MK1 for you.

What were you expecting the new one to do? 3D printing? It's still a guitar processor and the new profiling is fantastic.

With the volumes and volumes written and video’d about the MK2 and what’s changed, what hasn’t, and tone differences, I don’t know how anyone could be surprised after having a Mk1 for years. I’ve had Mk1 for years and love it, and I just haven’t heard or read anything that made me think an $1,800 upgrade was worth it.

True and how many Fractals have we seen during those 11 years? Different Line6 models too. Some new competitors like Tonex and Quad Cortex. What a wonderful guitar world we live in. Who could imagine it when I started play and with a cheap Marshall practice amp and a few pedals.
