AC buzzing noise

    Hey guys, I have a question that’s not necessarily related to Kemper. It use to happen with tube amps as well. I’ve run into this at a few venues where we play. I’ll get loud buzzing noise from my rig, it obviously gets worse the more gain I have. I know I can have a noise gate on, which I do but the issue is when you’re playing and you can almost hear the buzz over it. I ran into this last night and only found out that the Kemper has a ground lift. Wish I would have known that before, lol. Just curious if anyone had tried it or other products like the EBTech hum x? I’m thinking about purchasing one but maybe the ground lift built it would have done the trick. And I’m not talking about pickup hum, I do run single coils on my tele and I know they are not completely quiet but this is different. The Kemper is usually pretty quiet in most venues that we play at.

    Hello, I've had this problem a few times with a Telecaster in certain venues. It was resolved by turning off the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connections (the button with no light).

    Since you mentioned it happened with tube amps as well, it's most likely not Kemper-specific. The Main Manual mentions Ground Lift specifically to "prevent a loop hum" (Back Panel section, p. 38).

    The Troubleshooting section (p. 409) says: "If you should hear noise on any outputs, please check the GROUND LIFT buttons on the back panel (or Ground Lift options in the Output Section of the PROFILER Stage). These may only be used selectively and must never be activated all at the same time."

    I'd try the Ground Lift on the Main Output first at the next problematic venue before spending money on an EBTech Hum X.

    Good luck chasing this down — intermittent venue issues are always the trickiest to nail!
