How do you guys handle the workflow going from one Daw to another and back again?
I've been using ProTools for years on my soon to be obsolete Windows 10 computer. Before that, I used Cakewalk. Now that it is a free DAW, I may revisit it.

I do not produce songs, I just track the parts that the producer give me. In Studio mainly there is a sound guy and I don't even touch the DAW. The times I have to make a full song, I track in Waveform and make the rest in Cubase (I use it since the first Amiga, LOL)
How does an operating system become obsolete? The operating system and the software I use all work great. Do you you turn it on one day and nothing happens?

When it doesn't allows you anymore to update the software you need to use. In some case when the support get stopped it poses some serious safety risk,
Sure if you are implementing new software that outstrips your current hardware. Im just saying if its working it will kepp working. I hope. i prefer not to replace thousand of dollars in numerous pieces of hardware and software because it might be reuired for something i dont use.

In terms of using the different DAWs, you just get used to them after a while.
In terms of workflow, I don’t really use them in the same production. I may use Cubase to play around with the arrangement because it’s Arranger function is better than the SWS Region playlist for playing around with arrangements, but I can do that as a preproduction task using a demo track, which can just be a rendered stereo track - no need for the entire project. Harrison Mixbus can be fun for mixing because it emulates a console, but I wouldn’t track with it, so I would just import rendered audio tracks to mix. Studio One isn’t seeing much use lately; it seems to be going backward. Maybe Fender will fix it, but I’m not holding my breath.
Cubase
One thing I forgot to mention is that I use Cubasis as a DAW on iPad, so the main reason I have Cubase (other than the arranger feature and that I got it dirt cheap with an interface I bought years ago) is that I can export a Cubasis project from my iPad and open it in Cubasis on my Mac. I don’t do a lot with iPad/Cubasis, but it is a nice, compact travel option even compared to a laptop.
I use Ableton purely because I had a lite version free and I've just upgraded over time...but it took me sooo long to get to grips with it so I understand your question as they all have such extensive capabilities but doing something simple can be confusing!
I suspect there also so many use cases on here..I use mine for playing guitar as I don;t have my Kemper set up for practicing asI predominantly play live and don;t do much recording. In fact most of my recording is fixing live recordings I've done ( my playing needs a fair bit of overdubbing ha!).
Every time I tell someone I use abortion the response is something like" did you choose the most difficult daw ever made on purpose?"
