Stuck on "Retrieving list of Stack/Cabinet Presets" after RM

    Hi everyone,

I recently reached out to Kemper Support regarding a sync issue some days ago, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a reply yet. Since I'm running out of time and need my setup fully operational, I'm turning to the community for help.

After updating both Rig Manager (v4.1.20) and my KPA (v14.1.2), the two devices refuse to synchronize. The sync process gets permanently stuck with the following status messages:

    • Rig Manager shows: "Retrieving list of Stack Presets"
    • KPA display shows: "Retrieving list of Cabinet Presets"

I have already tried all the standard troubleshooting steps I could think of:

    • USB Ports: Tested multiple different USB ports and cables.
    • KPA Initialization: Re-initialized the KPA completely (tried booting while holding down the System button, as well as holding down the Rig button).
    • Rig Manager Reset: Completely cleared/deleted the Rig Manager data folder under "AppData".

None of this has helped. I strongly suspect that some data or presets on the KPA might be corrupted, preventing the sync from completing.

Has anyone encountered this specific issue after the latest updates, or does anyone know a way to force-repair or clean the internal database on the Profiler?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi everyone, I wanted to give a quick update because I managed to solve the issue myself.

It turns out my suspicion about corrupt data was right. I went into the KPA directly and manually deleted a Stack Preset which had an empty name. After doing that, the synchronization started working and completed without getting stuck.

On a side note, I must admit I am quite disappointed with Kemper Support. It has been almost one week now without a single response or even a basic acknowledgment of my ticket. Given how highly praised Kemper’s customer service usually is here in the community, I definitely expected a quicker reaction for a critical issue that completely locks you out of using the Rig Manager.

Anyway, I'm glad it's working again. Hopefully, this fix helps someone else down the road!

That's unfortunately my experience as well. I've got response either practically immediately (minutes, hours) or not at all. No confirmation at all.
