Storing a edited Rig

  • The Profiler Model referred to in this thread is ...
    ☑️ Profiler Player

This seems like it should be a simple task but I can’t find an answer anywhere I look. Even search here or search Ai. Here is the scenario.

I select a rig in a rig pack that I purchased from Top Jimi. I then lower the noise gate setting to my liking. How do I keep the setting so it does not revert to the original setting? When I search this I am told either press a store button, press a store button three times or click store in RM? None of this makes any sense to me nor is it available to me.

    Help!

  • The way I ensure that I get a modded profile saved is that I make a duplicate [Store as New]. Then I will add or adjust and save the duplicate [Repace Rig].

If I do not want to save a duplicate but save the original, I would enable and disable one of the blocks or even add and remove an FX then save it [Replace Rig].

This is because sometimes when I save a modded profile [Replace Rig] and switch to another profile, that modded profile reverts back to its original state when I go back to it.

So all that you described can be done in Rig Manager? Where are the duplicates saved exactly?

  • I save the net profiles (they call it RIG) on my profiler using the bottom button not the replace rig, but the save on you profiler. This save on your profiler button opens a dialog box and let you choose where (what bank and what number) to save. This way let the equipment keep the changes that I made for my preset (RIG). Every change has to be saved using this save and point procedure. This way you don’t lose your mods.

  • The function of its five Rig Buttons is explained in the Player's Main Manual.

    Rig Buttons 1-5 (3)

Press to load one of the five Rigs within the current bank.

If you edit the current Rig – e.g. increase its gain or activate an effect – the color of its Bank Button changes from white to yellow.

To store the Rig, hold its Rig Button for a moment. The LEDs above the Rig Buttons will start blinking. Now, you can navigate to any bank using the BANK Button. Press the Rig Button at the intended location to overwrite it with your current Rig.

Changed the title of the thread from “Storing a edited rig” to “Storing a edited Rig”.
  • Ok but what if I don't want to add it to the Player? Can't I change a rig that is not saved in the Player? I wasn't planning on storing every edited rig in the Player as space would end up being eaten up if you know what I mean,

If I am in a rig pack that sits in my local library that I audition occasionally and I want to edit that rig but leave it where-is, can't this be done? What happens when I click the Replace Rig button? Does it replace with changed settings and stay where it is? You may ask, why don't I try it? Well, because I don't want to f things up.

  • Ok so I selected a purchased rig in RM, lowered the noise gate a bit and selected Store Rig In Local Library. Nothing changed and I could not find the changed (edited) rig in Local Library anywhere. Where did it go? So I tried again this time selected Replace Rig instead. The selected rig did change and it appears after going out of RM a couple of times the change saved, cool. The rig stayed put, didn't move out of where it was also cool. I thought maybe it would be sent again to No where land.
So now the Duplicate red button is always present and I have to click around in the Library to get it to go away. But when I go back into the rig pack where the saved rig lives, it still shows up even if I click on a different unchanged rig like the one in the photo attachment..
I am not looking to duplicate. Is this normal? What am I not understanding?
