ICE250ASX2 Power amp settings

    I have a kemper power head，I wanted speaker output to two cabinets （stereo），open it ， the power output section is ICE250ASX2

    Read the manual ，ICE250ASX2 is a dual-channel

    Can I add another jack for stereo output

    This amp is stereo or mono bridged. In Kemper it is mono bridged and in Kemper the input is mono only. No, you cannot use it stereo without changing the hole configuration.

    If you change it to stereo each chanel would have half power and you have to make the input(s) external and redo the outputs.

    How to change stereo bridge， It should be to add internal wiring？

    You’ll want the correct harness to plug into the existing amp and probably need to jumper something to enable both sides of the amp.

    Soldering would be minimal and not invasive to the amp/profiler.

    Getting the unit apart, identifying what and where will take more time than the mod itself. I’ve worked with IcePower amps before. If you’ve got some technical knowledge and a fair bit of patience, they’re not hard to understand.

    The steps to take aren’t difficult, but that’s not the trick. The trick is figuring out what those steps are, how n what order and also having *plenty* of patience as you progress.

    Doable as a DIY, but also about as far from plug and play as you’ll get.

    If you have no clue after reading it, just don't do it, it is not work for you. Find an electrician and give him the manual.
    I have built my poweramp with this module. I run it stereo. Wiring is simple, you connect inputs, outputs and power.
    Running it in bridge/mono mode with double the power of single channel requires additional phase inverting circuit which feeds mirrored wave into the second channel to achieve higher power output.
    You want to run it in stereo, so in practice you should be able to identify the inputs, disconnect anything connected to it and reconnect your stereo inputs.

    But this is not an advice how to do it. Just an idea how I would do it.

    Correct. It runs in BTL (Bridge Tied Load) mode in the Profiler. Which can be changed with very little effort.

    It’s one pin.

    It ain’t that big a deal if you can read the diagrams and follow the manual. Actually, one of the simpler operations to do compared to the rest needed.

    None of it’s difficult if you’re even slightly mechanically inclined.

    My powered rack has a broken ICM board. It controls the entrance signal to the power amp.


    Instead of changing this board I will rebuild the power amp to stereo and feed it external with the monitor out.

    the Kemper soft button for power amp on/off is still working.


    Two new input jacks and two new output jacks.
    And a switch to change stereo to mono bridged.
    This is the plan.
