Has anybody tried doing Merged Profiles with version 2.0?
Is Merging available on the KPPlayer?
cheers

Yes it is and yes it’s fine
I tried merging 2 Profiles in Rig Manager yesterday with the Player, but couldn't find any buttons for it.
I think I read somewhere that merging is not available with the player?
You create a direct amp Profile and a studio Profile of the same amp configuration. Then combine the direct amp Profile with the cabinet section of the studio Profile (copy / paste). Thats it.
Of course its possible. You have to use RM.
And yes, there is no special button

I tried it this way, but it sounds totally different to the studio profile which is not what it's supposed to be.
the cab seperation needs to be calculated incooporating the extra fetched DI Amp data, so there needs to be an extra button like the bigger profilers offer, at least with the 1.0 profiles it did
During the last days I was playing around a lot combining 1.0 DI profiles with 2.0 cabs from Rig Exchange and most of them sounded quite good without much adjustment. In 1.0 I found it quite hard to get good results.
might be another case of RTFM... ;-D
1. the german manual says the player can "create any type of profile"... and then refers to the "Große Handbuch" which says
2. theres no merging required with 2.0 when copying the cabinet into the !Studio profile!![]()

Oh 🙈
I have read only the German player manual

Ok, I've tried different ways in Rig Manager and on my Rack Mk2 now
All results sound different, I can't find a way to merge a Profile 2.0 properly, ![]()
yes, this doesn't seem to work as suggested.
I've talked to the support now regarding this.
Yeah this works for me. and although the results are subtly different than the v1 profiling, I do like the new merging. I have found, for my tastes anyway, that it is a little more important on v2 profiles to match the direct level and the studio level more closely to get a good merge.
ok, good point, how do you match the level?
just by ear or with more advanced measurements?

Whwn you make the profile, you will see "return level" after clicking new profile to start the next one. This is the number to match. I then do the direct after the studio and adjust return level from my direct box until they are the same or the direct output is just a little lower. You can probably take measurements off the cable as well but I just read what the profile says and once I have a match I keep that one.
Can you still level match after profiling using the Amp Volume parameter?
Can you still level match after profiling using the Amp Volume parameter?
You can but that won't level the merging. The idea is to get the levels close so that the cab gets a good level. I've had mismatch cases that have then made the cab sound very quiet when I used it on other amps, so it's best to match levels in the profile making stage and you'll be good to go later for mixing and matching if you want. Mind you none of that helps with amps and cabs that others have done that were not matched. I think the KPA is compensating to a degree but it isn't always correct.
I'm pretty sure the pro profile makers are doing this.
I profiled and merged successfully today for the first time, though it's a bit of hit and miss, the resulting cabs that turned out good are actually amazing.
thanks for the hint with level matching.
