Unit powers on automatically when AC is connected

My Kemper Stage has recently started powering on automatically as soon as it is plugged into a power outlet, without me pressing the power switch. However, after I turn it off, it stays off and I can then switch it on and off normally. This only happens after the power plug has been disconnected and then plugged in again.

I think this is normal behavior. If the unit is on and isn’t powered off before detaching the power cable, next time power is connected, it will boot without pressing the power button.

Are you sure you’ve powered it off before unplugging the power cable?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I’m absolutely sure — I only turn it off using the power button.

Okay. I think you will need to contact support to get it fixed.

My stage has always powered on as soon as it's plugged in. I've just assumed it was normal.

This is the description related to the Stage's On/Off Button in the PROFILER Main Manual.

On/Off Button (1)

Use the On/Off Button to switch the PROFILER Stage on and off.

If you use this button to power off before disconnecting the power cable, the Stage will remain in standby as soon as you reconnect it to a power source. If you disconnect the power while the unit is still active, either by switching off a power distributor, pulling the plug, or in the case of a general power outage, the Stage will automatically restart as soon as a power source is reconnected.

You can dim the brightness of this button in OFF status by pressing the SYSTEM button.

If the Stage starts immediately - even if it had been shut down orderly, you might need to replace the internal CR2032 battery.

It really was the internal memory battery. I replaced it. The first startup happened automatically again. Then I reset the date and time in the system and powered it down using the power button. After that, the problem was resolved! Thanks!
