    Using the latest beta update in Rig Manager, when I select "native audio (ASIO)" to record in my DAW, Rig Manager crashes. I had to restart it about 10 times and revert to the default audio setting to prevent it from crashing.

    A little Bug? in Rigmanager: while creating some Profiles and saving to Stage I got empty Entries in my List, the Rigs have no Name no nothing. After restarting Rigmanager the Rigs showed up with correct Naming.

    Issue with my MK1 Kemper noticing that older MK1 profiles do not sound the same with V14 update? I have way too much low end and it's like clipping completely at master volume on max (0db) --- never had this issue before. It seems to be on any profile that is a DI profile and then has a cab added to it; sounds like overloading a limiter/compressor it's just terrible sounding.

    Then I have a 2nd issue as I'm trying to go back to 13.05: reinstalled Rigmanager 3.10, unplugged by kemper USB to the computer, put the 13.05 kaos file in the OS update folder on the USB, etc. The kemper does not recognize any OS update on the USB. Really frustrating right now. I tried with the koas file in the update folder or the USB, doesn't work; I tried in the root of the USB drive (not in any of those 3 folders) -- doesn't work. retried the same thing with the drive formatted by the kemper, nothing.


    Please help.

    that seems odd because the revert to release OS option has been a standard since many years in Rig Manager. It requires that a Profiler is connected that is running a beta version.

    Using UI to MIDI (courtesy of the KPA Team), we can clearly see that on MK I devices, the parameters correspond to the following:

    • SYSX: F0 00 20 33 00 00 01 00 0C 0B 28 20 F7 (Resonance) 0C 0B
    • SYSX: F0 00 20 33 00 00 01 00 0C 0C 47 5A F7 (Q factor) 0C 0C

    Anyone can do a quick test to check if these exact same NRPN parameters are being modulated with the new FW on MK II devices. If they are, it logically points to the conclusion that these parameters are not just a coincidence, but are fully functional and actively working under the hood in the new firmware.

    My goal here isn't to stir up trouble, but simply to apply objective, critical thinking to the data in front of us.

    Since the DSP and firmware clearly still support and process these parameters, I would like to make a strong request to the development team: please expose them officially in the Editor. > Giving advanced users direct UI access to Resonance and Q factor would be a huge benefit for sound design. Since the underlying code is already handling them, unlocking them in the editor seems like a natural next step and would be greatly appreciated by the community. Could we get this added in a future update?


    It is of course not a coincidence. We have done prototyping back then and these parameter numbers are simply next in line. You were able to test here, that the algorithm prototype behind that does not belong to the cabinet. And actually it does not match the cabinet profile.

    Anyway, there is a good method to control and emphasize a cabinet resonance and it has always been there for everyone. Position a peak equalizer after the cabinet and tune it to somewhere between 75 and 120 Hz to catch the resonance. Set Q factor to 0.7 or 1.0 or more. Tweak Eq gain to your liking.

    This is of course not the authentic way, but very effective. What we have evaluated back in 13.0.5 was somewhat related to this method.

    I updated to Beta 14 yesterday. I also noticed that profiles that used my own cab's ( cabs I made and imported ) did not sound right. I also noticed none of my cabs from V13 were loaded or accessible in RM. I could not select any cab at all. Then I restored the Kemper unit itself via a backup from usb I had from a month ago. The kemper still stayed at the new v14 beta after that restore, but all my cabs came back, and the patches sounded more like I remember them.

    I think that when I did the initial update to beta 14, RM also froze or stopped working while in the last phase, in the syncing phase - I don't think my profiles and patches were properly restored or whatever it is that happens in that sync phase of the software update. I had to quite RM and relaunch it. Not sure why this (restoring profiler rack from USB) worked for me, and I'm not suggesting anyone do the same without contacing support. Just relaying my experience.
