Unable to update to latest Kemper OS

    Hello,

I'm trying to update my Kemper Profiler OS to the latest version available but each time I try, it ends up with an error.

I tried first through the Rig Manager (which I first had to update to the latest version) and the update failed, but the OS was reverted to the previous version. I then tried with an external USB drive on which I downloaded the latest OS (following the instructions on how to do this). The update went through in both cases, but failed after a restart of the Kemper during the update of the cache. See the attached pictures for more information about the versions and the exact error message.

With the installation through USB drive, the OS version is not reverted and I end up with the error each time I restart.

Any idea how I could fix this issue?

    Thanks,
    Cédric

  • The error message indicates, that the unit is running OS 13.0.5 already - which is the latest release revision.

So; I'm wondering why you are still intending to "update" to the same revision.

Current version 11.1.54 and want to update to 13.0.5

  • The two pictures CedMoon shared logically contradict each other. The first picture of the error message clearly indicates, that 13.0.5 is the OS installed. The second picture shows the normal update suggestion of a unit, presently running OS 11.1.54.

These are either two different units or at least two different states. If you normally restart a unit after showing that 13.0.5 error message, it cannot start with OS 11.1.54 since that one is gone. It either runs into the same error again or it succeeds to start with OS 13.0.5.

So I'm wondering what the real current state is.

That's the point I was trying to make. If, the OPs' unit is updated to the current version then the Install message should say so - not be in conflict.

He was able to do the upgrade, but after the upgrade it is failing to boot. Some error about create.cache. If it were me I would email that screenshot with the error message to support.

  • I suggest you take another screenshot that contains the full message (there's a bit chopped off on the right) when it tries to boot and email it to [email protected]. They will investigate and give you guidance. Also mention that you just upgraded from 11.x to 13.x, but I think you need to be clear about the fact that your current problem is that 13.0.5 is failing to boot.
