Convince me to buy a Kemper Player

    ☑️ Profiler Player

Hello everyone, I have been using guitar plugins for a long time. The only times when I use an amp is when I go to the local music store. Today I downloaded Neural by nam and some profiles or captures. I most say that I was impressed with this plugin. The palm mutes sounded right and the way it sounded too. I watched so many comparisons on YouTube of different plugins and modelers and to be honest I cant hear a difference but in person, it totally is. I will like to try the kemper and see how it compares to Nam?

It will be nice to have everything in one unit and leave the computer off.

  • Don't Buy it! You Don't Really Need it !

Repeat with me: ''I will not Buy It, I Don't really need it''.. come on Repeat with me

(This usually works a LOT, with me at least):P

    Don't buy it. Don't buy it. I really don't need it..Nah but I want it so....:P

I was going to buy pickups to fix the les Paul that took me longer than sweet waters return policy to realize I hate so couldn't return.

The pickups return policy is 21 days. So lets see I receive the pickups and drop everything and drive across town to the music shop and drop off my guitar and the pickups to have them installed. So estimate at the counter maybe two weeks and $100 to get my guitar on the bench and have the pus installed. That's 14 days. Okay so they phone me. I drop everything and drive across town to pick up the guitar. Drive home and play guitar on my rig for a few hours oh shit theses things sound like mud. Oh no shop is closed .

So next day (15 days) I drive across town to drop off guitar to have old pickups put back in so its estimated another $100 bucks to have old pickups and two weeks . so two weeks later I pick up guitar we are at 30 days. Sorry your item is not returnable. So now I still have guitar with pickups I hate I also own new set of pickups I hate $300, and $200 for bench work. So I am a month in , have spent $500 and gotten no where.

I think it depends on what you want to use it for? If you are intending to play live then a physical unit is way better and so there is a simple reason for buying the player.

For home playing I use plugins ( amplitube) for convenience but for me its only "ok". I've not used the NAM profiles but they do get good reviews so the KPA may not be better for you, just different.

I've been a Kemper user for 10 years now and for me it really shines live, so I would look to borrow one or get it on a return policy in case its not what you are after.

Don't hear/look at Utube comparisons, the difference is not huge indeed....

I had a Helix before. When i ordered my Kemper Stage, i watched some vids and I was afraid I had done something stupid cause there were no difference or so few between those two units.

I strummed the first notes on the guitar when i received it, and it was night and day.... Immediatly, a big YES for Kemper ! <38|

I don't know if NAM is better or not than Kemper but we are waiting for Profiles V2.0 too that seem to be "better" or closer to real amp/cabs....

Just try it and see if it's ok for you or not... IMO, you won't be disappointed ;)

  • Buy the player, DO IT! The built in headphone amp is amazing, even drives hard to drive over ears to ear bleeding volume. You have endless configuration options, onboard physical buttons and knob’s to tweak settings, excellent MIDI documentation and compatibility with most aftermarket MIDI devices. It makes for a nice compact pedalboard, even with real pedals in front of it. Option for an expression pedal and paired with a Luminite FX controller or other device with expression inputs, you have almost unlimited expandability… I stopped looking once I got the player…

I don't think this is analogous to buying a Kemper, Fractal, etc. There is no "bench time" required to get a profiler or modeler up and running. I'd also recommend learning to install your own pickups ... it's quite simple (either follow one of the jillion online diagrams, or just photograph your current wiring and follow that), requires simple tools, can be done on a kitchen table in 15 minutes, and you save $200 (in your example).

  • None of Kemper’s products will disappoint in terms of sound and feel. Which one, if any you should buy, depends on how you plan on using it though, and with whatever other equipment. Do you wanna put it on a pedal board to use with other pedals? Are you looking to use it as an all in one device? What kind of flexibility do you need for turning effects on and off and switching between songs. Are you OK regularly using a mobile app with it?

  • The overall, effects and build like a tank hardware. It doesn't get obsolete fast, they think about the customers.

Fractal made version 1 2 and 3. Kemper just kept the upgrades of MK1 but made an upgrade to the hardware because there was evolution in 15years.

Honestly, from a guy that used helix, tonex, quad Cortex...the Kemper is the most reliable. I understand that fractal is also top notch, but I still think that Kemper moves upgrades etc thinks about the customers...

Fractal made an FM3 and then an FM3 TURBO...And keep launching new hardware to make you buy new stuff...this is not "think about the customer"
