Portable speaker for Player

    ☑️ Profiler Player

    Morning,

I’m back in love with my Kemper after buying a 100 w valve amp for home use, it has a great master volume taper ;) but now have a question.

Sometimes, when we go on holiday we actually don’t get on a plane but go somewhere here in the UK in the car.

I’ll take a guitar, but if I bought a Kemper Player then it could come with us too and I could take all my amazing sounds with me.

I assume I can use headphones, but what small portable frfr speaker would people recommend?

Would something like the Headrush frfr GO 30 do ok?

Or should I just buy something like a Yamaha THR or Spark?

    Thanks,

    David

  • Hey David !

People seems to be happy with the Headrush Go thing or the Spark Go.
Don’t expect it to deliver like 12 inches speakers tough…

I own a Marshall Bluetooth speaker and I remember testing it for that specific use case, and it worked. Maybe you have one of those laying around ?

  • I have a Spark 2 that I took in holiday this year and it sounds honestly great, loud enough to carry a barbecue evening we had with 20 people

Just for fun at home I have connected my Stage to the AUX in of the Spark, and after adjusting the output EQ the result was good. Definitely a fun little box. Used it also for Karaoke (with an acoustic amp preset) and was sounding 10 times better then any sub- 500€ dedicated BT box.

Alternatively everybody talks well about the Bose S1 Pro

If something is too complicated, then you need to learn it better

  • You can use small studio speakers ; anything that is a reasonable monitor will work. Even some computer speakers might do the job. It might help to choose something that has an adjustment for the high frequency level. I use a pair of mAudio (bx8a) but you could go even smaller for easy portability.

  • This is my minimalist setup with

    1. Kemper Profiler Player (Level III)
    2. Battery pack with a USB-C to 2.1 mm (negative center adapter)
    3. Bose S1 Pro+ (note: the newer S1 Pro+ has built-in wireless receivers)
    4. Bose Wireless instrument transmitter
    5. Bose S1 Pro Backpack, which can easily carry everything shown, plus a microphone and a Bose Wireless XLR/Mic transmitter

    Here are the details.
When using the Bose Wireless Transmitters, the wired 1/4 inch input becomes an insert loop. You can connect an Insert cable (1/4 inch tip-ring-sleeve to two 1/4 inch tip-sleeve) to the 1/4-inch input on the Bose S1 Pro+.

    1. Connect the Bose Wireless Transmitter to the Guitar
    2. Connect the Kemper Profiler Player to the insert loop with an insert cable
