Yes.
Apparently the player will be able to profile amps once V2.0 Profiling is released.
Player has fewer outputs. No S/PDIF. No FX Loop. Only one external Footswitch Input which can be used EITHER for an expression pedal OR extra two button footswitch.
No performance mode.
No full tuner mode. There is a tuner but not as easy to read/use as the bigger units.
On the plus side it sounds exactly the same and is super small, lightweight and portable. Not a replacement for the bigger units in any way but a fantastic addition or alternative for some workflows/gig types.
What comes up to my mind in this moment is:
- physical connections and missing Footswitches (only one exp pedal, ...)
- load performances (only rig one by one)
- lock effects
- some parameters are missing (distortion sens, etc)

That’s a really good point which AleFretMaster made about locking. The Lock feature on the bogger devices is a massively useful feature which the Player doesn’t have unfortunately.
Del/rev as a global mix isn’t there.
Everyone wants the lock effects feature, but for some unknown reason, they are very stubborn

As others mentioned, there are several things missing even at Level 3 when compared to the Stage, Rack, Head.
However, a lot of missing features are due to the physical restrictions of the Player versus those units. In the future, Kemper will probably add more options and features to the software side of the Player. But I wouldn't expect things like Performance mode to show up on the Player.

I respectfully disagree with the rationale that physical limitations of the player justify the lack of features like lock, performances, distortion sense, delay/rev mix. Certainly the argument against these features could be applied to many features that the KPP supports that have similar hardware display/control limitations.
IMHO, it's lack of desire to change/challenge assumptions and possibly technical debt of the software that leads to these limitations. There are several ways the current KPP hardware could support these with minimal compromise, and then there's midi and rig manager for those that need more control.
The more the KPP is interchangeable with the larger units, the better it is for users, Kemper selling multiple devices to one person, and a simpler code base to maintain.

Yup, easy for me to say, and I have no skin in the game.
However there is a corollary to these rules that often applies.
