error configuring MK2 Head asio driver in reaper

  • The Profiler Model referred to in this thread is ...
    ☑️ Profiler Head/Rack

In reaper I get the following error. I originally thought it was because rig manager is open but in general the asio driver seems like it's not configured properly. Even with rig manager not running, reaper doesn't see any inputs and clicking on the asio config panel does nothing.

  • no replies but chatgpt says the kemper asio driver doesn't work. I switched over to wasapi driver and tried following the instructions for reamping and recording DI from the manual. Somewhat confusing to get it working in reaper but I was finally able to do it for my test. Hopefully I can remember all the steps, lol. Someone needs to do a reaper tutorial.

i commented on this previously. I don't want to use asio4all because of latency and performance issues. As I said, I got it working with WASAPI but since there is an ASIO driver installed by kemper, why doesn't it work? BTW, ASIO4ALL is a wrapper on top of WASAPI which just converts asio calls into WASAPI calls so it's only adding latency. My real question is -- how do i get kemper's native ASIO driver to work?

  • update, you have to set the audio mode to ASIO in rig manager. Default is USB Audio. Once I changed it there, I was able to add the driver in reaper properly. The output page on the MK2 still shows USB audio so I'm not sure where the setting is on the device itself

Its in the System Menu. USB audio in the Output Menu means any USB audio whether ASIO or other. In my case as a Mac user Output shows as USB but system menu/Rig Manager shows as Class Compliant or Native Audio (not sure what the Windows equivalent of Class Compliant is)
