Hi, very happy with my bass rig; Kemper, 2 Barefaced BB2's, Matrix GT2000, but Matrix seems to be "on the ropes", they've discontinued the 2000, don't even have any 1U GT1000's available. Looking proactively to grab some backups in case something fails. Having the richness of the huge headroom of those 1,000 watts per channel, even at low volumes is something I don't want to lose, and don't want to add weight to the rig as I'm getting along in years. The aluminum GT2000 is super light as are the Barefaced cabs.
Curious if anyone has experience/thoughts re an alternative power amp that is similar to the GT2000? A Crown XLS 2502 is a little less powerful than the GT2000, and a little heavier, guessing the tone isn't as high end as the Matrix? Any thoughts about using a Demeter HB1600D and preamp only profiles (I understand some Kemper guitarists use Fryette tube amps). Thanks much, Jeff
