Rig Manager: where is context menu action "Undo Rig Changes" documented?

  • The Profiler Model referred to in this thread is ...
    ☑️ Profiler Head/Rack

I found this menu item "Undo All Rig Changes" and it seems self explanatory, but there are definitely times when it does not undo anything. So what is it supposed to do, and is that documented anywhere? It seems to undo MORE things than only the items under the RIG Icon, but less than everything. The context for all of this is on a rig "loaded" for editing and making some changes and then doing the undo step and checking the areas changed. I searched both the Rig Manager manual and the Profiler manual and I did not find anything that matched Undo All Rig Changes.

  • Undo/Redo covers all parameters blocks that a Rig comprises of, but no global parameters like Output Settings. It is a multi-step undo where a step is created after 2 seconds after the last editing.

In the display, you can see which blocks are affected when pressing UNDO or REDO.

The function in the editor just executes the same thing that is executed in the Profiler itself.

So should it undo items in the amp block? Because I have seen this fail.

Also since you answered here (thanks) does that mean it is not documented?

  • Yes, it should. Can you elaborate what not has been covered by UNDO?

I am not sure what ypu mean by „documented“?

I mean that somewhere there is written down "Undo All Rig Changes does {expected behavior}".

My expectation is that it would undo any changes that I made (to your point, not global settings, but I was not expecting that).

However it did not undo everything (again aside from the subject of global items). Is this a bug? How would I know if it wasn't documented what Undo All Rig Changes is expected or designed to do?

  • I can replicate taylorphototexas results "Undo All Rig Changes" not reverting Presence (and other Amp settings).

This applies to the Profiler Player III

    • Windows Rig-Manager-3.10.13
      and
    • MacOS Rig-Manager-3.10.13

Undo Rig All Changes seems to work as expected on

    • Android 13.0.5.61298
      and
    • iPadOS 13.0.5.61298

Here's a sequence - step 1 I've loaded a rig in rig manager. Step 2, I changed the "Presence" setting". Step 3, I executed "Undo All Rig Changes" from the menu. Step 4, Presence setting still in the modified position not undone.

  • Which exact Versions do you use?

Rig Manager Windows 3.10.13, Profiler (Mk 2) Power Rack 13.0.5.61298. Windows 11. There are other parameters that do not get restored. Shall I list them all? Everything I have tried so far does not revert including all settings in Amp and all settings in Rig. I have noted that there are corner cases where it does work and it seems like it might have to do with which thing you change first but I cannot reproduce that now.
